Did You Know: Vitamin C Helps Improve Moods

I was reading this magazine my husband picked up on fitness and health and there was an article from the journal Nutrition, explaining how they did a study on Hospitalized Patients and Vitamin C. It states that they noticed a reduction in mood disturbances when they increased the amount of Vitamin C the patient received. I found this to be very interesting. Read full report here.

I extended my research since recently I have been giving my daughter a lot of oranges since she loves them so much and I started having a glass of Orange Juice every morning with breakfast.

Below is what else I found.

  • There are 45 mg of Vitamin C in your average sized orange. This is about 75% of your recommended requirement . Read more here
  • An adequate intake of Vitamin C may protect against stroke and heart attack. Read more here
  • Large amounts of Vitamin C will lower Manganese levels and aid greater insulin which may be beneficial for Type II diabetics, but it would worsen people suffering from hypoglycemic. Read more here
  • Taking 1000 mg of Vitamin C twice daily will help boost your immune system, but beware it may upset your stomach Read more here
  • One glass of Tropicana Pure Premium OJ has 120% of your recommended daily Vitamin C in take. Read more here
So today we learned if you need a mood boost have some Vitamin C, not only will you be a little happier, but your heart and immune system will be too!
