Easy Recipe: Sugar Cookies

I enjoy baking, although I prefer cooking, but every Christmas we make sugar cookies and cut them into shapes and decorate them...it would not feel like Christmas without sugar cookies. Below is an easy and yummy recipe.

  • 3 tbsb. Butter soften
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg- room temperature
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. Milk
  • 2 cups of Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • Sprinkles for decorating
Mix butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and milk. Mix well. Combine dry ingredient (flour and baking powder in a separate bowl) Add dry ingredients slowly to wet ingredients and mix well. Dough should feel soft.  Roll into two big balls and put in fridge for 15 minutes.

Roll out dough, dip cookie cutters in flour and cut out shapes. Brush milk on cookies and add sprinkles. Bake for 12-15 mins at 350 degrees. Makes 2 dozen

Now I always end up covered in flour some how, and end up having to clean up sprinkles all over the floor, but they are fun to make and a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

Enjoy with a tall glass of milk!!
