Did you know...What name 'Halloween' means...

The word Halloween is a shortened word for "All Hallows' Even," which is the eve of All Hallows' Day which is another name for All Saints' Day, the day Catholics commemorate all the saints.

So there you go, next time you want to trick your friends instead of saying Happy Halloween, just say Happy All Saint's Day!

Runner's "High"

I love to run. Now that it's colder out I've been running at the gym. It feels so good and even though I am not the best runner, I enjoy every minute of it. My friend posted this the other day and I thought it was so funny and true.. Thought I would share the laugh with you all!

Halloween is in the air...

I love Halloween and since it is a couple of weeks away I thought it would be fun to help you get into the Halloween spirit. I loved it as a child and love it even more as an adult. It gives us adults a chance to dress up and reveal the kid in all of us. I love hay rides and haunted houses-even though I am not fond of scary movies. I love how the air smells in October and decorating the house. I even love carving pumpkins and making fresh pumpkin pie. So stay tuned for some fun Halloween facts I will be sharing in the upcoming weeks and let the child in all of you come out for this Halloween season!

Fall is here...

I LOVE Fall...I know I know people say it's depressing because it gets colder, darker earlier and it means bath suit season is over BUT think how beautiful it is when the leaves change color, the air smells so much fresher and I love wearing a light sweater with flip flops.

I love Apple picking and drinking fresh cider. The house smells amazing from baking apple crisps and making pumpkin pie- which is my all time favorite. Corn mazes are so cool and stop and grab a roasted corn at your favorite farm while pumpkin picking-pumpkin picking is so much fun. You can go on hay rides and Halloween is so much fun for all ages- gives us adults a chance to dress up and feel like a kid again. I love laying in my living room while the fire is going and fire pits are the perfect way to unwind after a long day. So yes there are many FUN and BEAUTIFUL things about Fall. You have to just embrace it the best you can!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This is a very sensitive subject to me and millions of people out there. We all know some who has or had breast cancer and it is so important to educate yourself.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an amazing organization to donate to or to get educated to understanding Breast Cancer, prevention, and how you can help others or cope.

Remember ladies get your yearly mammograms and now mammograms are not just recommended for women over 40. If you have a strong family history be sure to notify your doctor so you can get checked prior to being 40. Trust me, they are not the worst test to go through and it is better to be safe. Early prevention is the best way to curing yourself from this horrible disease.

Did you know... according to the American Cancer Society about 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women was estimated in 2011. Help donate to this cause today.
