Let’s Go For A Ride....Spontaneous Holiday Ride

I had a meeting tonight after I picked up the girls and my mom and said we’re going for a ride. A friend messaged me a couple days ago and told me to stop by with the kids to see his light display on Mystic Lane. So that was our first stop. It looked amazing.

He also told us about a house in Norwalk on Mark Drive. We took a ride but the lights weren’t up yet. So we just kept driving around. It broke up the night. Set the holiday mood. We grabbed hot chocolate and listened to holiday music. Spontaneous fun on a school night.

Where’s your favorite place to see holiday lights?

Best Places In US To See Christmas Lights

I love going to see lights and displays. So much that I dragged a friend last year to it and he won’t let me live it down but deep down I know he would totally go with me again...

Check out this cool list of places that have the best Christmas Lights Display. I wish I could visit them all.

Choose People Who Choose You

It’s not about feeling bad about yourself or down. It’s about being around people who bring you up. Who love you even for your little annoying habits not throw your flaws in your face. You have to choose people who look beyond your mistakes and issues. Who want you to be happy. Who support you. Those are your people. Not people who hurt you because you hurt them.

I learned a lot this year. I learned some people are selfish. Some people will lead you on. Some people don’t care to go out of their way for you.

I also learned about myself. Not reacting. Not trying to fix everyone. That everyone will have flaws. To treat people how you want to be treated.

It’s about being around people who love you even on your off and bad days. That’s the people you surround yourself with in your life.

Today Was An Off Day...Reverse Your Thoughts

I woke up early with all intentions for a great morning. My intuition was off. Something wasn’t right but I thought it was because I woke up a couple times through the night.

I took longer to get to the gym than I anticipated. I get there start my second machine for cardio and get a call from my oldest Daughter. She sounded off. Wasn’t a big deal but she began to cry and asked if I could bring her to school. She missed me and felt off. Of course I head over to her dad’s. Everything was fine she just missed me.

I drop her off and after I drop off her sisters. I watch my little ones all bundled and cute walk to the front of the school. They made me smile.

Then as I approach the exit a car enters the exit as I am leaving. It’s a one way. Not something they should have done. The car speeds in the parking lot and I sort of panic. I began to drive back home but make a u turn and go back to the school. The car was gone. I kindof just sit there to make sure everything is ok.

I come home and my mom said the highway shut down. There was an accident. She didn’t know details.

This day has been off since I woke up I said. I explained my morning and she said pray.

My girlfriend is very spiritual. She texts me and I ask if she was off today too. She wasn’t. She said reverse your thoughts. I said I will just sit back, meditate and reverse my thoughts.

Now when you think something negative or bad or get anxiety you have to reverse them. Sounds silly but I swear it works. I normally reverse it by saying today will be a good. That bad feeling will reverse into something positive and everything will be ok.

My day ended up being fine but for a minute I had to put my trust in God and a spiritual being and reverse my thoughts to change my energy flow. We all have off days. It’s normal. Just because our morning starts off wrong doesn’t mean the rest of the day has to be that way.

Reverse your thoughts!

How A Fig Brought Back A Ton Of Memories

I grew up walking in my grandparents garden and picking figs off their tree. You never realize how memorable things are until they are no longer available. After they past family members replanted the trees but the figs were never the same. Now when I see a fig it reminds me of my grandparents. It makes me smile. I remember my grandfather dropping off a plate of them to my mom. We just got used to it. Now I would love a fresh plate every weekend.

I was cooking blue apron meals and in a box came a dried Turkish fig.

It’s not as sweet as regular figs. But brought back a ton of memories just from seeing this. I smiled and brought one to my mom. Look a dried fig.

It’s funny how something so simple can bring back a flood of memories.
