It’s Great To Soon Be 8

Soon she will be 8. She’s my youngest and today we celebrated with her friends. It was great.

My best friend is still home so she came with her kids. My boyfriend came with his kid. My niece was there and then my daughter picked three friends.

We swam, had pizza, water ballon fights, did tattoos, ate cupcakes, cake and ice pops.

Weather was perfect.

30t Years….Of Friendship

I love when she comes to Connecticut. It’s like a piece of me reignites inside. We have been best friends for over 30 years.  Since 1st grade.

She was always like a sister. Most of my childhood I spent with her. We even fought like sisters. It’s amazing to have someone in your life through all your journeys and chapters. Very rare to have.

Grateful to have her for life. πŸ’œ

Setting Boundaries Is Ok!

It’s ok to set boundaries. It’s ok to say when you’re not ok with something.

My boyfriend wants to be together forever. He doesn’t let anything bother him. NOTHING.  He feels I should trust 100% no matter what. He trusts me 100% no matter what.

I have had different experiences than him. I have been lied to or heart broken etc….Sometimes history repeats  itself. You get tested.

We don’t have the same experience with love and relationships. Our boundaries are different and that’s ok. I still make sure I make them clear.

Just because they aren’t aligned doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be respected.

There’s pros and cons to setting boundaries. It wasn’t set from the beginning it was more set along the way when we faced some situations I wasn’t comfortable with. The main thing is to communicate them. What one person may find acceptable another may not.

We agreed to always discuss and communicate when we feel boundaries have been crossed or need to be better aligned.

What do relationship boundaries mean to you? Great article about them.

Oh Mega Million

I didn’t wake up a winner but I did enjoy dreaming as if I was.

Trust Your Feelings

We have triggers. It’s really about emotions. When we feel off or upset or not right it’s our body saying “fight or flight”.  The emotion we feel is telling us something.

We all have experienced it. I have. You have. It’s normal. What’s not normal is how you react to it. Some people fight. Some get upset. Some run from it. I personally discuss it. I confront it. I can’t let it go. I can’t un-feel. I have been numb before. I don’t recommend it.

I try to think through it to understand it. I really do. Which at times can be worse because you overthink it. Over thinking is awful. It’s trying to figure out a situation and piecing it together.

The mind is a powerful tool. It can backfire on you if you overthink too much.

You don’t have to be in any situation that makes you feel uncomfortable. EVER. You do have an obligation to yourself to figure out why it made you uncomfortable and then to not get yourself in the situation again.

You don’t have to accept anyone in your life you don’t want to have there.

We Went “Bottomless” At The Place 2 Be In West Hartford CT

I saw a post on Instagram and had to go. I love that about my boyfriend, he is always down to checkout a new place with me.

He went “bottomless” which is endless mimosas for $20. You can also choose sangrias or Bellinis. This place is super cool and fun.

His brother and girlfriend live in Hartford so they met us. This place doesn’t take reservations BUT there is a waitlist you can go on. We added our names and headed over. We got lucky. As soon as we pulled up my table was ready.

The drinks are SO fun and huge. The meals are super delicious. It’s a self order menu. Which makes it cool for separate tabs. You put the table tag up if you need a waitress. Down if you’re good. You order through app and food comes to your table.

I love food with and experience. This place totally is!

48 Years…Wow

Cheers to my parents. Celebrating 48 years today. That’s not common anymore. You don’t find couples who really stood by each other, who put each other first and their family and worked hard to be there and be good to one another. Who respected each other. Found a friend in one another.

It sounds so simple right?

People change. People outgrow one another. People break promises. Life isn’t always easy.

Sometimes it takes us multiple tries to find “our” one.  Have you found your one? I can say these two definitely are the one for each other!

Celebrating 2 Years

I love him because we have so much fun. We really do. There’s so many great things to do and see and experience and experience is always what we seek.

Cava in Southington is awesome and a great experience!! We had dinner in the Wizard Room. Honey, fig ricotta as an appetizer, he got stuffed shrimp and I got lobster ravioli. I got the “Love Potion” drink. So fun. It comes with dry ice on the bottom and you get a Smokey effect.

Dessert was hard to decide on. They bring out a tray to pick from and we ended up with Lemoncello cake. Really good. After was rooftop drinks.

It was awesome.

We ended our anniversary weekend watching the new Thor movie and me enjoying the perfect flowers he got me.

2 Years…What An Adventure

What a great adventure these last two years have been.

You name it we have tried it and if we haven’t tried it then it is on our list to do.

We have so much fun together.

The first year was about him and I. The second year was about us.

Two years together. 8 states. Endless laughs. So many adventures. I could love him forever because he makes me feel safe, loved, heard, seen. He makes me laugh everyday. He loves me and my girls.

Anything I ask to do he says yes. Anything I want to try he’s front and center.

He’s really perfect for me. Truly!

I can’t wait for the adventures we have ahead of us. I can’t wait to create more memories with him. I feel so lucky I get to love him forever.

Williamsburg Virginia

I remember as a kid going to Amish Town in Pennsylvania. I remember wondering why my mom made us come here and guess what I always reference back to it because we learned so much.

So on our way home from our trip I wanted us to check out Colonial Williamsburg.

So much history.

It was a hot day so kids got tired fast but we walked around and learned a lot. We saw the old capital building. We saw how court houses were set up by the King of Britain. We saw how they made clothes- 10 hours by hand to stitch a dress.

My oldest appreciated it because she learned about it in school.

Was a good experience. I wouldn’t go back but glad we did go.

We Don’t Have It All Figured Out

Life is about the ups and downs. Just keep doing what you can to be happy!

Happy 4th of July

Fireworks. Pool time, cornhole and lots of food.  I hope you had a great 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Summer Dos

The other day my oldest asked me when we can go for haircuts. Today I said. I called our hairdresser and luckily she squeezed us in.

I used to be particular with their haircuts. Now I realize it’s just hair and will grow back so I said pick what you like.

They actually came out really adorable. My youngest went the shortest and very bold of her. She’s always a fashionista.

Luckily they all loved how it came out.

OH Connecticut How We Love You

I was in Williamsburg Virginia and saying to my boyfriend and the kids how it reminded me of Georgia when a woman walking by heard me and said she was from Georgia. We started talking and she said she was driving through Connecticut and asked us where she should go.

Automatically I said Mystic. It has cute shops and history. The aquarium and seaport are entertaining. There’s even a Vineyard and you can kayak the Mystic River. Mystic Pizza is a fun spot.

Later that night my boyfriend and I were talking about Connecticut and starting listing off what else we could have suggested.

The casinos. Maritime Center. Stepping stones. The water falls. Etc….

This article definitely should be added. How many of these places have you visited?
