Mommy Dinners: We All Need Them
Every month a group of my mommy friends and I get together for dinner at a club they belong too. It's always a lot of fun. We then either stay there or venture out for a couple of drinks. Our conversations normally range from mommy talk to silly girl talk to a little town gossip etc... These monthly dinners are a must and if you don't do them you should start.
The thing is we all have a lot to learn from one another. We all need a break too. We have built a fun group and although we try to get together on the playground and play dates, these mommy nights gives us time to connect without our little ones tugging at our legs.
It's probably been a good 8 months we have been doing them and each time it's a reminder that we are not alone and it's great to have cool chicks in your life who get you and can make you laugh.
Minion Valentine So Cute and Clever
I love these! Although my daughter decided to hand out lollipop valentines I am loving these minion ones. I am hosting a get together day before Valentine's and love that I can use Valentine's as a theme. Makes planning a lot more fun and easy. I am going to make these for our guests- I mean who doesn't like pudding! Plus is a fun craft project to do with my girls.

Speak Up and Stand Up To What You Want!
As you can tell I am not afraid to share my opinion. I am a true believer if you don't like something or think changes need to take place you should stand up for it. Now there's a way to go about it. You have to make sure you gather facts and do it in a classy way to truly be heard. You can't be the loud one always or rude about it. But to justify the reason for the change you have to truly believe in it and that the change will benefit others.
We don't always see results right away when we voice of opinion or request change but when we do see them it's pretty rewarding!
A great example is I got into a pretty heated discussion with someone over changes I wanted to take place involving my child's education. It all had to do with increasing parent involvement. This took place about six months ago and today I noticed one of the changes I requested came into effect. I must say I was pretty excited about it.
This change may be minor to others but it is something I stood up for and I was extremely pleased that the person took it into consideration. Now I walked out of the meeting feeling like I was heard and that my requests would be considered but to see it actually happen kindof brought tears to my eyes.
Stand up for what you want. Don't create enemies because reality is the world is small and you never know when the tables will turn. Don't burn bridges or ties with anyone. But do gather your thoughts before you present a request and be prepared for people to not do what you ask. I am extremely pleased that I received the outcome I wanted and hope that this is a lesson to others to stand up for what they want.

Powerball Jackpot is $900 Million
The jackpot has reached $900 million and as I wait to check my numbers I get a little anxiety thinking about what I would do with all that money. Share it of course. Save a huge amount. Take a couple of trips and donate. But reality is that's a whole lot of cash!
What are the chances?
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 : 292,201,338. Chances of being struck by lightning in a year is about one in 960,000. Scary I know.
But we all know you have to be in it to
Win it. You have no chance of winning if you don't buy a ticket.
Good luck!!

Mecha Noodle in Norwalk CT
I am a little obsessed with this place. Last year I went to the one in Fairfield with a friend and it was delicious but we didn't know what to order. Recently one opened up in Sono in Norwalk CT so I went with my husband and little one. We went to town. I just got back from dinner tonight with a group of girlfriends and again amazing. Below are some of my favorite items:
Boa pork belly: I tried their chicken one and it's good but the pork belly is really amazing! The bun is so light and fluffy. The cucumbers really add a refreshing taste.
Their pork egg rolls come in an order of 5 and are crunchy on the outside and full of meat inside. Not skimpy at all.
Note the cheerio on the plate was from my daughter not part of the meal.
I have had their PHO chicken which is good but their Chicken Ramen is amazing. It has healing powers. The broth looks creamy but it isn't and is the best broth I have ever eaten.
Even my daughter enjoyed it!
Another couple of great items I had are their mushroom dumplings and kale salad. Their prices are so reasonable. They do not take reservations and I have noticed the crowd fills in after 6:30/7:00 so be sure to get in when you can.
It's top on my list! Check it out!

Change The Way You Look At Things
We have this outlook of how life should be but reality is we need to start enjoying the little things. Bad things will always happen. We can harp on bad string of luck we have or we can say it's part of life and move on.
The point is start appreciating the little things more. Wake up happy and go to bed happy. Throughtout day say you're thankful for the things that make you happy. Show appreciation for the people who do nice things for you.
When you come across a situation that brings you down try to turn it around. I have come a long way these past couple of months and it's like a light bulb went off in my head. I am going to start appreciating the small things because combined they are what matter. The big things yeah they count too but it's the little things that keep you going.
Change the way you think and see how your life will improve. Start by saying what you're thankful for each day and see how much happier you will be.

I still haven't finalized my plans for New Years yet, funny the older I get the less I seem to focus on it. I fight the clock to stay up to see the Ball Drop and kindof don't want to deal with the party rush so staying in sounds better and better every year.
