Growing Pains...Look How Far You’ve Come
A year ago life was so different. It’s crazy how much can change in a year. So much good has happened. So
many lessons. Some heart ache. Disappointments. Yet growth. It all made you different. A bit happier or a bit on guard. Growing pains...we all go through them.
many lessons. Some heart ache. Disappointments. Yet growth. It all made you different. A bit happier or a bit on guard. Growing pains...we all go through them.
Maybe your life isn’t exactly where you want it to be. Maybe you’re not with the person you want to be with. Maybe pain along the way made you a tougher person Regardless appreciate it. Appreciate your life. Where you are in life. At this moment this second.

Capri’s Bakery Norwalk...50 Flavors of Empanadas
They weren’t lying when they said they had 50 different types of empanadas.
I saw their sign up last week and been wanting to go in. The menu has everything even dessert. Even breakfast empanadas which I tried their bacon egg and cheese. Was delicious. The empanadas are very light and fluffy. $2.45 each or a dozen for $25. Of course I got the dozen. Each empanada is marked with a number so you remember what is in it from the number on the menu. If you take them home they suggest you bake them at 350 degrees for 3-5 mins.
I can’t wait to try their guava and cream cheese one.
There’s So Much More To You Beyond Your Looks
When was the last time you were appreciated. Deep down to the core. Not because you looked a certain way but because you are unique. Different. Deep down that’s what it’s about right?
Yeah pretty can be nice but what about having a beautiful soul. Loving people. Being kind. That to me is true beauty.
Antler Toss Game
I saw this at CVS the other day for $4.99. I bought it for the kids to play together at Sunday Lunch. Little
did I know it’s been selling all over social media. Even the adults enjoyed it.
Cute, fun, game for the kids and adults.
Presence Not Presents
Image a group of pre teens all hanging around. Watching their friend open their gifts. Before she does one friend turns and says I hope you like your gift. It’s cute to see the nervousness and excitement. But from
The person giving then getting. With hopes and anticipation that the receiver will appreciate it.
This happened the other day when my daughter was opening her gifts. She then turned to her friend and said at 11 years old.
“I don’t care about the presents I care about your presence.”
My mouth hit the floor. At that exact moment I knew my job as a parent paid off. Like big time. I turned to her and said I am so proud of you for saying that. That’s extremely mature. Well it’s true she replied.
How amazing can life be if we all felt that way. If we all made people feel that way. It’s the gift of having you here with me that matters. Nothing else. I don’t care about what comes along with it. You being here is enough.
Beautiful. We all should make people feel like that. Myself included. It taught me a lot in a fast moment. I hope it teaches you something too.
I Already Have All That I Need
Holidays are a time for people to come back into your life and confuse you a bit. So of course I got a random Happy Thanksgiving from someone who did super shock me. I responded and they kept it short. I was then a little mad about it but the thought it was ok. I already have all that I need in life. Anything else is extra.
When I explain the situation to family and friends they even had the same reaction as to why they person would reach out. After kindof just slipping away. You have to be at a comfortable place in life mentally to know that situations like this will occur. You have the power to not let it affect you.
So I replied to everyone “It’s ok I already have all that I need in life. Anything else is extra.”
And it’s true. For me and for you. Look at your life. Look at ALL the good. All of it. Every single positive thing about it. Sure we all lack a small aspect but why let that small aspect be a focal point?!
Being at peace within means being happy with who you are and what you have and appreciating that you are getting everything you need.
I came across this article that really was inspiring to read.

Who Is Cooking Your Turkey?
I leave it to the professional to do. Why mess with it? Are you cooking this Thanksgiving?
Cheers to Turning 11
You are my sunshine...you make me happy when skies are grey.
She made me a mom. 11 years ago. I wasn’t feeling so good after Thanksgiving dinner and took a nap. I woke up and my water broke. After an emergency csection she was brought to the NICU. I couldn’t be with her the first 24 hrs of her life. I had preeclampsia. I remember when I did hold her for the first time I was amazed to meet this little girl I spoke to for 9 months in my stomach. It was in the delivery room
her eyes were so big and I said nice to meet you. Sounds silly but all I could think about was how much she looked like my mother in law.
When I could finally be with her in my room I wanted to look at every part of her. Exam this amazing little baby who grew in my tummy. She became my best friend. I took her everywhere. We did everything together. She was fun and happy and loved trying different food and polite and kind and she’s all those things still. When I look at her I see this four year old little spunky kid. She’s never her age in my mind. She’s my little girl.
It doesn’t have to change. She can always be my four year old. She’s beyond smart. Loving. Reliable. Kind. Her laugh is contagious. She still hugs and kisses me at school drop off. She still wants me to lay with her when it’s time for bed.
Her silliness and sense of humor reminds me of me. I always say she has the best of me and her dad. She makes me proud in everything she does.
She’s always been my sunshine and always will be.

What’s Your Turkey Come With?
I asked a friend what their favorite meal was for tomorrow. Besides the turkey. We both said the stuffing. My friend said mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. I love the after thanksgiving sandwich. That’s were turkey and all the sides on top of toasted American bread...oh my!
What if you were to step out of the box and add a little fun into your Thanksgiving sides?
Here are some ridiculous looking side dishes that are far from your average holiday side dish.

What Are You Thankful For?
I had a friend who was overly happy this week. When I asked why they said I am just grateful and thankful.
I appreciated that. We get caught up in life. Work. The rush and chaos that we should take a step back and remember all we are thankful for.
If you filled in the blank what would you say?

Thanksgiving and Parenting Humor
Luckily I go to my Aunt’s house for Thanksgiving and don’t cook. Everyone brings a dessert. My mom brings the turkeys cooked and ready to go.
I love Thanksgiving. It’s a great holiday. Family and friends get together and you eat. No pressure for gifts. Just good company. Good food. Laughs. Cozy weather. Full bellies.
I hope as you prepare for this week you give Thanks for all you have. All the great people in your life. The beauty that life has given you.
I am Thankful for all my readers. All my family and friends and loved ones. Thankful for never really ever being alone or having to face anything alone.
Self-Discipline
Saw this and it made me think. As you can tell food is a part of my life. I love trying new restaurants. New food. Different cultures. Food is an emotional experience. We bond over food. Love over food. Talk over food.
Ok maybe I need to find a new source of fulfillment but when we are good to our bodies. We are good to our mind and soul. Take care of yourself.
