Puerto Vallarta at The Taste Of Fairfield

I loved this table. My daughter at bedtime said I must have been Spanish in my previous life. Funny second person to say it this weekend. This Mexican Restaurant was on point. The plantains were delicious the steak tacos and taquitos were so fun and packed with flavor. Loved the alcohol samples they handed out too. So refreshing. I can’t wait to go here.

Taking it Back...The Real Way To Eat Dulce De Leche

I couldn’t find the wafers so I had to order them online. When they came in I was so excited. It was the real authentic wafers. My childhood rushed back to me. 

I remember hanging at my friends house who is Colombian and she would make us this. It’s my favorite. I would later buy it at Los Sopreso in Norwalk but haven’t seen it there in years. 

You spread the dulce de leche on the other side which is smooth. 

I can’t wait for my kids to try it. They already love the little cups I gave them. Which come with cute little spoon  I even brought one to a friend of mine who is Colombian and he couldn’t believe it. He used to eat the little cups as a kid. I gave him a couple to have his dad try too. He was so happy. 

When you go through the stages and layers of healing and finding yourself you like to reconnect to things in your past that bring up happy memories. This is one of them for me. I hope you too enjoy the little joys in life. 

Men You Don’t Have to Be So Tough

Love this. It’s ok for men to be gentle and kind. I love a sweet teddy bear. A man who is in the moment. Not distracted. One who feels connected to you when you’re together and talking. Men soften up. Also do what makes your heart fully happy. 

Get Uncomfortable

Inorder to change and grow you need to get uncomfortable with yourself. You need to face reality. Sometimes we live a fairytale life to hid from our truths. You can’t do that. You have to face them and deal so you can heal.

Old Post Tavern Braised Short Ribs with Jalapeño Mashed Potatoes

This was a favorite for my oldest and youngest. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were green but NOT spicey. The jalapeño are pre roasted and then masted. It was then plated with short ribs on top and mini fried onion rings. Delicious. We can’t wait to go here. https://www.oldposttavern.com/

Bowling and Bocce at Pinstripes

I love when spontaneous plans come together. That’s been my life lately and I love the groups of friends I have available for it.

I said to a friend be ready at 5 she says great and another buddy of ours is coming too. Perfect. The more the merrier is how I feel. I grab them and say Chinese for dinner then coffee and drinks and bowling at the Mall. 

How great to be able to say that and everything is in Norwalk! I love the Sono Collection. I really think it’s so pretty. I love getting coffee at Nordstroms and walking around. 

After we grabbed coffee we went upstairs to Pinstripes and it’s so cool inside. I have seen it a couple of times briefly but this  time we went in and walked around. It’s huge and beautiful. There are bocce courts and bowling lanes. We hung out in the bowling area and ordered drinks. I loved the Old Fashioned because you just need one. It’s a great casual drink to sip on. The vibe in this place is so fun. 

I can’t wait to take the kids to go bowling this weekend. It’s big and clean and bright. 

After I hung out with a friend in Milford. He couldn’t believe they had bocce inside the Mall too. Such a cool place and I love it’s right in our town.

Adult Fun Finds At A Taste Of Fairfield

There were plenty of fun treats for the Adults at the Taste of Fairfield. I loved the sampling of margaritas and mojitos, wine and beer. I am only a social drinker so these sampling sizes were perfect. But then there were these Prosecco filled metallic chocolates that when you bit into it there was a burst of  Prosecco.

 My favorite were the baileys cupcakes and baileys ice cream station. 

It was perfect for the kids and adults. The kids had all these toppings to choose from and the adults got to add a shot of baileys. I chose chocolate ice cream with salted caramel baileys. Yeah it was amazing. 

We All Have The Same Needs

We all want love, safety and understanding. We just have to get through some trials before finding it.

Air Workshop Fairfield

I loved this craft set up at a Taste of Fairfield. It was perfect for the kids. They picked what color block they wanted and what stencil. Then a worker put on primer and the kids got to pick what colors they wanted to paint. After you peel of stencil and it looked so nice! 

I love to paint. I always found it to be therapeutic. I would paint sunsets or portraits of people. When I want to destress I sketch. I always say I want to setup an art room in my house. Where crafting and painting and being creative is open and accepted and welcomed.

What a week it’s been. Grateful I got to see a lot of my favorite people. I love this. It’s true. Someone choosing you means they want to invest their time in you. Whether it’s family or friends or a companion. Respect your time with them. They are giving up their time to be with you. Nothing says love like that. Nothing says you matter to me like that. Time. ❤️

Artisan L’escale Winter Vegetable Chowder

Hands down this was my favorite at the Taste of Fairfield. It was creamy and delicious and they added roasted veggies that were crunchy on top. I even went back for more. 

I would so go to their restaurant. I have to been to the one in Greenwich. Delicious and worth the experience. 

Taste of Fairfield Awesome Fun Eats

What an awesome event. We went with the whole family. The kids loved it. They had crafts and bowling and a cartoonist. 

So many awesome eats. Great variety and huge portions. 

My daughters favorites was braised short ribs and the lobster bisque. 

My favorite I will do separate posts. But I will tell you I bowled three strikes and was so much fun. The place was huge and clean the kids had a blast. We can’t wait to go again next year.

Go Through The Steps To Achieve Happiness

You have to go through the channels. You can’t skip a step. You have to heal. It’s a slow process but it’s amazing after. You have a sense of peace and then are happy. Naturally happy. 

There’s still going to be people and situations that try to bring you down. Control you or manipulate you. Some may trigger to get a rise out of you. Don’t do it. When you have healed you automatically won’t react. You say what you need to say and let go of the stress after. It’s a process not easy but worth it.
