Taste of East Norwalk Festival

What an awesome Food Festival. You pay a fee to get in and then get to sample all the East Norwalk Restaurants you even get non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. My dad has been wanting to go. So we all met up instead of having our traditional Sunday lunch together. It was really the perfect day to be outside.

Some of the vendors where Partners, Jimmy’s  mediterranean deli, Sunset Grille, Mr. Frostys, Valentino’s, Raspados Flamigos, Harbor Harvest, Van Zant Bar & Restuarant and Don Carmelo's.

Awesome event and can’t wait to go back next year.

September Fest

No Expectations...

I once read that relationships and friendships fail due to “unmet expectations”. What if we all learned to go into a relationship and friendship without any expectations. That just for the purpose of pure happiness. Not for financial stability or for someone to take care of us but just for someone to enjoy our company. Wonder how many friendship and relationships would still be around...

Seeing Hearts Everywhere

I have seen hearts in food in the past but these last three days they have been popping up everywhere. I am not sure why or what it means but it does put a smile on my face. I think the universe is sending a message, maybe it’s love, maybe it’s just to get me to pause and enjoy the moment. Whatever it is. I like it. 💗

You Got This!

I couldn’t even begin to describe what this year has taught me. One thing is for sure I am much tougher than I ever thought I was. I am so eager to learn. Meet people. Grow. Be a better version of me.

My kids...everyday I love them more and more. Everyday my patience grows. Everyday they are more remarkable.

I love what this year has taught me. Even through the tough times I learned. I fought to be a better person because it makes me feel good. Because in the end it’s your life. Love it. Live it. Be it.

When You Don’t Want Summer To End...

St. Matthew Church In Norwalk Carnival

Saturday Humor...

Take Me Away...

It’s funny how normally you need a vacation to recover from a vacation.  Not this time! This getaway was so relaxing that my body is still in relaxing mode!

The girls Dad booked a trip for them to Disney. I was going to stay home and take some time for myself but after discussing with my sister we decided to take the time and go someplace too. It turned out that our college roommate of 20 years now living in Floria would join and my sisters friend in New Jersey. It was the perfect combo. Chill. Relaxing. No agenda. Just enjoy yourself. That is exactly what we did.

It was the first time I was away from my girls for longer than two nights. I missed them a lot but spoke to them a lot and knew they were having fun. When was the last time you got away. No agenda. No set plans. Just relax, eat, shop, drink, beach, repeat?

Timeline of an Avocado...Enjoy The Laugh

Sono Arts Festival Aug 4th & 5th 2018

This is so much fun! Love all the crafts and vendors. Great places to eat and the best part Sunday is their puppet parade. My girls and I were in it last year. So much fun. So much talent. A great event to go to this weekend!

Focus On Your Own Happiness

We have to learn to take control over our own happiness. No one but yourself can give you that. When someone doesn’t make you feel good, let them go. When someone doesn’t bring out the best of you then move on. Happiness is so good for the soul. Be good to your soul!

 ðŸ’—

Hearts have always been my thing. A way to put a smile on my face.  Loved to find a heart on a slice of cheese at my favorite beach in West Yarmouth. It’s the little things in life. That sometimes make a big impact.

Pick Yourself Up and Redefine Who You Are!

Walnut Beach Milford CT

This has been one of my favorite things to do all summer. Pack a cooler. Hang on the beach. Look at the sunsets. This was at Walnut Beach in Milford. I have been here a couple times and love it everytime. Starts off with so many people walking the boardwalk and ends with fireworks going off from someone hanging on the beach. Really perfect. A simple, non expensive way to have fun and relax.

What new beaches have you checkout this summer?

Parenting Over Summer Break...Who Can Relate?

Be Adventurous...Try New Things, New Places

One thing I told myself was to just be open minded to everything. Try new things. Go to new places. Learn as much as you can. Embrace the situations you’re in.

So I have. I hiked in Madison CT. It was beautiful. The water was surrounded by hiking trails. You can’t camp there or swim but it was like having the whole place to yourself. Hot in the trails. Breezy by the water. Amazing.

Thank You Norwalk Hospital!

Back in February I wrote to the President of Norwalk Hospital about the negative experience I had bringing my daughter to the emergency room. There was nothing kid friendly. Last week I took my other daughter and I walked out smiling. She had a minor injury to her eye. Which healed fast luckily. When we walked in everyone was so nice. There is now a little area for kids to sit and play in.

When she got into a room they immediately brought her a coloring book, crayons and a teddy bear that she could take home with her. After only being there for 1 hour we went to leave and my daughter asked if she could stay and play more.

A completely different experience than the one we had in February. I immediately emailed the President thanking him for the changes they made.

Everyone has good and bad experiences. Voicing your concern DOES make a difference. I am grateful that the suggestions I made have come into play. I am also grateful that we live in a community where focusing on making experiences easier and better is a goal.

When was the last time you took the time to voice a good or bad experience? When you do be sure to leave emotions out. Also be sure to follow up and always say Thank You when you see changes being made.

Deviant Donuts in Vault Coffee Shop Olde Mystic Village

Who doesn’t enjoy a good donut! “We need to stop and try these donuts” my sister said. So we pop in this cute little coffee shop, Vault Coffee Roasters in Olde Mystic Village and the donuts look incredible. There’s a little donut rack with these big, fluffy donuts. We ask which ones are the most popular and she says the Samoa. We grab that one and the Blueberry Lavender one and a couple others. BUT these two stood out the most because anything with Lavender you know is going to be delectable on your pallet. Refreshing. Sweet. Girly. I know I just called a donut girly. But really you can’t pass up any dessert that has lavender in it.

The Samoa well I was kindof speechless.... I know right me speechless?! So you bite into it and you get the coconut flavor but not too strong but what got me was the donut batter itself. It was like a crossiant inside. I can’t describe it. It was soft inside. Crunchy outside. The hint of chocolate paired well. Just amazing.

Next time you are in the area be sure to check them out!

Sticky Situations

In Old Mystic Village there is a store called Sticky Situations with honey from around the USA. They have stations setup where you can taste the different flavors. They even have a board up next to it that recommends tea and food pairings with that type of honey. So fun and delicious!
