Thanksgiving and Parenting Humor
Luckily I go to my Aunt’s house for Thanksgiving and don’t cook. Everyone brings a dessert. My mom brings the turkeys cooked and ready to go.
I love Thanksgiving. It’s a great holiday. Family and friends get together and you eat. No pressure for gifts. Just good company. Good food. Laughs. Cozy weather. Full bellies.
I hope as you prepare for this week you give Thanks for all you have. All the great people in your life. The beauty that life has given you.
I am Thankful for all my readers. All my family and friends and loved ones. Thankful for never really ever being alone or having to face anything alone.
Self-Discipline
Saw this and it made me think. As you can tell food is a part of my life. I love trying new restaurants. New food. Different cultures. Food is an emotional experience. We bond over food. Love over food. Talk over food.
Ok maybe I need to find a new source of fulfillment but when we are good to our bodies. We are good to our mind and soul. Take care of yourself.
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday to all the nice hearts I have in my life. Thanks for making my heart happy too.

Malibu Taco in Fairfield
I have been wanting to come here since it opened. We popped in late night to grab a quick bite and drinks. I love the ambiance. Very cool inside. These tacos came on a pink corn tortilla. The pork belly was delicious. Crunchy, with a slightly sweet glaze. They were stuffed with a lot of meat. A really cool spot in Fairfield.
La Antigua in Norwalk
I love a good empanada. I was driving by with my little ones and spotted this place from the corner of my eye. We stopped in and grabbed some empanadas. It’s a Latin restaurant. The empanadas remind me of Colombian empanadas with the corn meal base outer shell. The meat empanada was like stew meat inside. Really good. My little one loved the chicken one.
This is located off Main Street in Norwalk.
We didn’t have a lot of time but I would like to go back and check out their menu more. There were a lot of customers inside. A lot of families ordering family style. A really simple place.

How Are You?
There aren’t problems. Just solutions.
I grew up with that imbedded into my mind. Doesn’t always feel that easy or simple. My mom repeated that phrase over and over.
So today a friend messaged me asking “How are you?”
I stopped myself before answering.
Should I be honest and say well this morning was a mini battle. Yesterday a friend triggered a past emotion last night I noticed someone lied to me about something. But instead I said I was ok because reality was all that other stuff can’t matter anymore.
See my kids are happy. Work is super busy. I had my daughter’s play to attend and life is this way. Up. Down. Good. Bad. Ok. Annoying.
A girlfriend messaged me and when I vented she said whatever happened to taking a break from that all. She was right. I need a break. I break from past mistakes that keep coming back. To focus on the solutions only. Solutions are look at the good, focus on that, let the rest go. Slip away. Fade in a distance.
No problems. Just solutions. Try it. I promise I will too.
The Best Yet Loudest Container
So funny and true. It’s the best for it’s first time use only. After it’s just too loud and frustrating to open and close and not wake up everyone in the house.

Take Your Space...Your Time
When you get out of situations it’s crazy how clear things seem. How obvious. How certain situations just ran it’s course and it’s time to move on to the next chapter of your life. Don’t fight the change. Embrace it.
Take the space and your time. You will realize a whole lot 💗
It’s Not What You Go Through
We all have a story. We all have a journey where obstacles got in the way. Ups and downs. Hardships. Medical conditions. Job loss. Failed relationships. It’s a part of life. Unfortunately we will have these situations. The difference is how you handle it. How you let it affect you. What you learn from it. How you grow. Let every situation make you a better person.

Show Your True Self... All Of You
Awesome podcast a girlfriend sent me. Some things I loved was saying it’s ok to get hurt. It’s ok to open up and take that risk. Sometimes we tend to hold back our true self. It’s ok to expose who we are and what we want. Taking a risk is better than settling!

Change...Stop or Start...Today!
Do it today. Like now. Start doing something positive or stop doing something negative. Regardless this all boils down to you. It’s your life. You can’t blame anyone anymore for things that aren’t right. Take ownership.
I must say everyday I try to fall in love with myself. My flaws. My good intentions. My body. My mind. It’s not easy. It takes everyday work and encouragement. But no one can ever love you like you. Remember that.
Be There For People Like You Needed For You
This post brought back flashbacks. The best people were those who came to help so you could heal and rest. Even if it was a short visit it made a difference. I would say I am going to nap or shower when company came. Not because I didn’t want to be with them but because I need a break. A time out. I needed a short time to heal from my c-sections and take care of me so I could be a better Mother.
Taking a break and time out isn’t being selfish. We are taught we must do it all and smile. I call bs. I say we deserve a break and time to take care of ourselves as well. How else can we give our all if we don’t allow us to have a break to regain our energy. We need to stop burning out.
In 2013 I had my second child. A month later my thyroid out. Three months later my RAI treatment for cancer and Three months after that I got pregnant with my third child.
My body was a mess. I had people coming in and out of my house helping me. I am forever grateful for those people. For the meals they cooked and brought me and my family and for the help they gave me. For helping me heal and recover.
Be sure to help people when they need it and be sure to ask for help when you need it. We always act like supermoms well sometime moms need a break and help. That’s ok too!
Basso Cafe Lunch Fun in Norwalk
My sister missed me and what can I say I missed her too so we decided to grab lunch together to catchup on life and of course my work Trip.
I love this place. Presentation is always so beautiful and the flavors are amazing. We order hummus with yucca chips. Delicious. The chips were so crunchy. The hummus was packed with flavors. Then we got the mushroom and goat cheese flat bread. The bread was grilled. So tasty and had a bit of a Smokey flavor. The balance of goat cheese and mushrooms with balsamic was the perfect combo.
My sister ordered their chicken salad with arepa and I got the wrap. These portions were huge and delicious. I loved the salad. Refreshing and the balsamic dressing was just enough.
The chef is very creative and every meal is packed with awesome flavors. Be sure to check it out.
