Have You Been To The Place 2 Be…You Gotta Go!

Have you ever been to The Place 2 Be? I have been a couple times now and every time I leave I can’t wait to go back!!

It’s dope!

I had to have the girls check it out after we did the Smash Ave in West Hartford. It’s always so much fun. Lots of laughs. The menu is insane. Really delicious too.

They just opened up a spot in New Haven. Will have to check out that location.

The drinks are so fun and we are still finding mini ducks in our purses.

They don’t take reservations but there is a waitlist so be sure to jump in it an hour before you want to go and check out the wait time. So worth it and fun! Be sure to jump in the tub to take a picture.

Are You Feeling My Vibe? Smile

Everyone always looks better wearing a smile!

Black-Eyed Sally’s in Hartford Live Music

This is such a great spot. Food smelled amazing. I love the art and decor. We came by after dinner to listen to the soul funk band play. Was a lot of fun!

Can’t wait to go back and eat here. It’s right near the capital- which is beautiful at night.

Escape Room in Stamford at the Panic Room

We did this for my Daughter’s Birthday and it was a lot of fun.

We had four of us. We had one hour to get through clues. A lot were numbers. We made it past 8 clues but didn’t finish. I actually discovered the first two…was pretty proud of myself.

I definitely would go back with a bigger group and ask for clues. That’s the key. If you’re stuck just ask for a clue. It helps the process go by fast.

Are You Doing The In & Out Dance

I was never really the anxious dating type. I was in a 20 year relationship and never was anxious. I was secure I may have not trusted his decisions but didn’t feel it made me insecure. I then became anxious after a post divorce relationship which went bad and kindof stuck with me. That mistrust feeling or unsure.  I hated it and I saw so many people doing that. Mostly avoidant men and anxious women or vice versa. I had a friend who I admired because he was so confident and secure in all his relationships. It made me want to be that way again. It could only happen if I was in a relationship with a secure type of person. I am now and it feels so different then the others. So much better. So easy.

Break ties from anything that makes you feel unsure or confused. We can’t allow someone else the power to make us feel like that.

Happy February 1st

It’s the month of love! May your past love teach you what you deserve in your current love. ❤️

Never settle. Love hard. No regrets. I do believe we have many souls mates we meet throughout our lifetime at different moments we needed them and those experiences but real love... That’s something that’s rare.

Pure. Good. Mature. Honest. Happy. Real. Fun. Love.

I wish you that type! That’s the type you don’t have to fight for it just happens. That’s the type that never ends. You grow old together. I hope we have that. I hope you do too. We will never know. Just enjoy the moment!

The Library Wine Bar in Wallingford

This place was delicious. My honey mustard glazed chicken was incredible.

We went with another couple. It’s in a restored library. It’s really big inside and pretty. Cozy. We had burrata and lobster ricotta gnocchi as an appetizer.

They even do a buffet brunch- which I can’t wait to try. I can’t wait to come back.

How Far We Have Come

I have known her for years and then we dated friends and became really close. Once those relationships ended she reached out. It was perfect. She helped me get through some really hard times. We partied and laughed and cried and created some great memories.

We lost touch and reconnected again and this time I look back on who we were years ago to who we are now.

Our relationships now are so stable. We both found two great guys who really are perfect for us. Who make us feel like no one ever had. Heard. Seen. Respected. Valued.

I mean we are fine on our own. That was one thing we truly learned but to meet nice men who love us. That’s icing on the cake.

We randomly text words of affirmation and she’s not like anyone I ever met. She’s unique. Special. A ray of sunshine.

This picture was from three years ago and popped up as a memory. When we were two girls just trying to find ourselves, love and happiness. Embrace life and everything that was coming at us. Mend our broken hearts. I wish we could tell those girls life is just going to get better. Glad it did!
 ❤️

Never underestimate the value of anyone in your life.

Smash Ave in West Hartford- Give Me Something To Break

This was so much fun!! So fun that we are doing it again this weekend but this time I am taking my boyfriend.

I have had my share of unbury to heal and self healing and getting closure but this experience was amazing. You just break stuff. Literally. You’re in a room. You have tools. You just smash away.

We had a speaker going with our songs and we went to town.

Much better than any therapy I ever had!

Our friend got it for our birthday last year and we finally went. I suggest boots to wear since things you smash you step on.

We even smashed a TV. You gotta go!

Tubing and Dinner In An Igloo At Powder Ridge

What a fun time we had. Every year we take our kids tubing. It’s our Family tradition. This year we rented an igloo to have dinner after and it was a hit!

We did tubing for a couple of hours and walked over to the restaurant Fire at the Ridge. Our igloo had couches and a heater.

Kids asked if we can add the igloo to our yearly tradition! I agree with them. It’s a great idea!

Back 9 Social: Virtual Golf Course

Virtual Golf…I must say I wasn’t good but it was a lot of fun.

We were suppose to go back in November for my Boyfriend’s birthday with his Best friend and wife but had to reschedule due to Covid.

It’s really a cool activity to do. You get your own area with bar stools and can order food and drinks.

You can pick short games to play or a real golf game. After we played darts.

Learn more here https://back9social.com/ in Wallingford.

We are going again next month to one in Fairfield CT at Golf Lounge 18.

Have you ever been to an indoor golf course?

Sit With Things Before You React

I love listening to the Angry Therapist. On his recent post he talks about lessons he wish he knew when younger. A lot I already knew but he said one thing that stood out. Sit with things before reacting.

Ironically this picture then popped up on my phone as a memory. It was a trip we took kids to Vermont in 2021. This was on top of Killington Mountain.

Sit with things before reacting!

I have come a long way in my journey of life and this is still one I have yet to conquer.

I don’t hold on to stuff. BUT when I am upset in the moment I have to talk about it and at times I come off strong. If I don’t discuss it I create scenarios in my head and it’s worse. I have to learn to sort it out alone first. Realistically. Because I already have the control to let go of it fast after we discuss things but in the moment I could explode inside even I don’t discuss it.

“Try to understand before being understood.”  It’s not easy! But I know it’s something I myself have to work on.

How do you react to things? What would YOU tell your younger self?

Girls Night…Fairfield CT

I always loved Fairfield. So many fun restaurants and places to go. So last night had a girls night with my three and we went to Mecha and Crumbl for dessert

We love Crumbl because they always have weekly flavors. They are really sweet and rich so we cut them up so they can try them.

Just Be

I saw this by artist Amy Charlette. It’s a representation of just being. Being what you need in this moment, in your life.

We always feel we should be doing more, but we burn out.

I woke up burnt out. Thank goodness it’s Friday but looking forward to hanging in with my kids this weekend and just not rushing to be doing things.

Just be… everything else can wait!

My Word: Gratitude

My word to end 2022 is GRATITUDE.

For having two negative biopsies this year. One over summer for my thyroid. One this week for my breast. Grateful is beyond my feeling of getting negative cancer results. Reminder always get your Mammo ladies!!

For my kids who really are amazing. They drive me nuts but I adore them. They are such great human beings and I gladly take the credit for that.

For my parents for being there for me always and allowing me the opportunity to give my kids whatever they need at any moment.

For planning on buying a house with my amazing boyfriend and having our kids live together. He’s the perfect guy for me. Truly what I need in a person.

For my new job. For giving me the opportunity to have a great future.

For my family for being my rock.

For my friends being there for me no matter what.

For the endless amounts of travel and adventures we took this year with our kids. The memories we created. The love the girls have for each-other. It’s amazing.

For growing as a person. Really acknowledging what is important and what isn’t.

For being better every year because life has taught me we can always do and be better.

Parents After The Holidays

Fairy Tales Do Exist

It’s about finding that person who you can be YOU with. Who calms you and makes life seem easy.  It’s both our second time around and it’s so good and we are so excited to spend our lives together. So many fun things to look forward to. ❤️

The Perfect Holiday Weekend

Was a great holiday weekend. Been years since we all could be together. We were just happy to be able to get together. Christmas Eve is spent with my family. We all eat and laugh and tell fun stories and we don’t want the night to end.

Christmas Day we went to visit his new baby niece and celebrate his grandma turning 90. We had a nice dinner with his family and board games. We ended the night with watching a movie by the fireplace. Was a great day!

We are grateful to spend holidays with so many great people.

Cherish these moments!

Merry Christmas Eve

This year I let the girls select what pictures they wanted on our holiday card. Grateful for them and all my loved ones!

Embrace the holidays. Life is short. Enjoy the memories.

It’s About Being Together- Our Blended Family

They sang Christmas songs and there was candy and icing everywhere and I asked if they liked this tradition of making gingerbread houses together every year and they all screamed yea, we LOVE it. To be honest I do too!

It’s About Creating Memories…Not Perfection

I feel this sums up me. I am not perfect. I make mistakes and can lose my mind at times. I am not the best baker or wrapper. I don’t even care. Sometimes plans don’t go the way I want them to and things change. But all the kids in my life are making some awesome memories and that is worth it all.

My oldest has been really sentimental lately. She keeps saying mom when I am older and have a family I am going to do what you do with us. I am also going to still come over too and bake with you and make gingerbread cookies and celebrate all the holidays with fun crafts like you do with us. I said absolutely and I will love to still do them with all of you and my grandchildren one day.

A perfect example:

Today they didn’t have school. I asked her what made her feel this way all of the sudden and she said because she’s getting older and realizes not everyone does the traditions we do. Not everyone gets to have these experiences and I am grateful I do.

So we make our holiday pancakes since no school and she smiled the whole time. Our pancakes did NOT come out perfect but being with them was perfect!

Parents don’t get kids don’t need us forever. Cherish the days you have them. Make the memories. Don’t expect perfection. There is no such a thing!

Break the Generation Cycle

You have the power to change at any time. You don’t have to carry on with things that don’t suit your life well. We blame our childhood or past experiences for our behavior BUT breaking the generation curse is a real thing. You can accomplish it. You can be better.

Pineberries- The StrawberryTaste Test

We saw these at Stew Leonard’s last week and had to get them. We always do a taste test. We taste test different color peppers, different color carrots. We do it with snacks and love to cover our eyes and use our sense of taste to try things and determine if there is a difference.

We decided to do it this time with regular strawberries and these pine berries that look like strawberries that are not ripe yet.

The pine
berries are very similar to a strawberry but have a hint of pineapple flavoring. You notice it more with your eyes closed because open your brain automatically thinks it’s a strawberry.

The red strawberries were sweeter.
