Years ago my best friend moved to Colorado. I went to visit and fell in love with it. The only view missing was the ocean. We are so lucky to have so many awesome beaches near us in Connecticut.
Try not to forget the beaches in the Fall. The view and sound of the sea really is good for the mind and soul.
I love skirt steak. I have had really awesome skirt steak and really tough skirt steak. Below is a simple. easy recipe for skirt steak you can make at home.
What you need:
*Package of skirt steak
*Olive Oil
*Cilantro
*Garlic Powder
*Salt
Coat the bottom of a pan with oil. Turn heat to high and cover it. Add salt and garlic powder to top side of steak. Once you hear oil sizzle add steak top down so seasoning side is down in the pan. Let it sit until it forms a nice crust on bottom. Add salt and garlic and flip again. Once both sides has a nice crust remove off stove top and top with chopped cilantro.
Trick to skirt steak is to slice it at an angle. Against the fat ridges. Serve with rice and salad.

The 1st of the Month always meant good luck to me like a chance to start a new month over. When I saw this I laughed. My goal this month is to get into better shape and how great would it be if we could lose weight this easily!
They say depression is from focusing on your past and Anxiety is from worrying about tomorrow. So why not let go of your past and stop worrying about tomorrow and enjoy your current life?
You can't change your past and you can't keep worrying about your future but you can focus on today.
The foliage this year is amazing. I am absolutely blown away as I am driving around how beautiful it is. My best friend lives in Florida and I have been sending her pictures and it's amazing how we take little things like the beauty of Fall for granted. I know Fall leads to Winter. But there's beauty in Winter too. Below are some pictures of the amazing trees and leaves in full color bloom. Send in some of your favorite foliage images to mommyct2009@yahoo.com
Every year I take the kids here for their Easter egg hunt. This was the first year I took them trick or treating there. My girls were a vampire, raggedy ann and superwoman. It was so much fun.
The event was 5:00-6:00 and by the time we arrived the line was wrapped around the parking lot. Next year we will have to arrive a little earlier but once it started the line moved fast and it was very organized. They had five stations set up with two different characters handing out goodies. They handed out juice boxes and gold fish and of course candy. Was a really nice experience and it was free.
There's still time for Apple picking and every year I also look for a guide for the best apples to bake with, eat and pick. Who knew there were so many different types. Check out this awesome guide by Lyman Orchard.
