Pumpkin Picking In Connecticut
Since there's no school tomorrow figured may be fun to go Pumpkin picking. Of course where to go is always the question!
Now I have been to a lot of farms and love them all but sometimes distance is a factor, sometimes price is a factor, sometimes I like to try someplace new. Regardless how lucky are we to live in an area where we have a TON of places to pick from!
Check this out and let me know what's YOUR favorite pumpkin patch!

We All Have Problems...Share Your Joys
I know too many people like this. It's like they don't even know they'll playing the victim. It's the truth. We all have some crap we have been dealt and we are dealing with it. No ones life is "easy" BUT let's try to focus on the good. Let's try to not be a "Debbie downer" all the time. It's pretty toxic how some people are.
Some people act like "well J you're always positive so you don't get it" Um I do. I have had my perfect share of shitty situations and continue to do so. I actually plan on writing a book about some of them one day but I also realize you get mad, yell about it then deal and move on. That's life people. No ones life is perfect no matter who you are. But I will tell you spreading Joy now that's something people enjoy. Being happy, it spreads happiness. It's good for the body, mind and soul. Try it!
Touch-A-Truck Event Oct 8th 2016 Taylor Farms
These events are so much fun. I went to the Norwalk Public Works one today and the girls loved it!
I went to this one a couple of years ago and was a blast. It's Saturday Oct 8th 10-3:00 pm. Great entertainment for the kids and the money that is raised is going to a great cause.
Parents if you have never been-go! You can climb on the vehicles too. They are insane. *Bonus this year: Kids come in their costumes dressed up and can go trick or treating.

Blue Apron You Rock!
Past year have been contemplating trying Blue Apron and I finally did it and only regret I have is not doing it sooner.
Here's the deal. You select how many meals you want and they ship the day you pick. It comes UNCOOKED but with everything to go with that dish. Recipe cards. Oils (not olive oil) vegetables. Spices. You name it.
I signed up for three meals a week for two people. I needed a change. I always end up cooking two meals anyway since kids eat same old stuff and am sick of the same boring dishes. I told my husband if I do it he has to try everything I cook. I also have been working a lot more and don't have time to think about dinner and sides etc. Blue Apron does it for me now!
First week I got $40 off. For three meals a week for two people is $60. Comes down to almost $10 a person a meal and shipping is free.
I got catfish, chicken and shredded beef with all vegetable and spices. I unpacked the box of fresh ingredients and split them up according to the recipe. That way everything night I pulled out a bag and just started cooking.
They give you a big recipe card to follow. Rinse veggies and chop. You will not believe that in 30 mins I had amazing dishes cooked. Even sides too! Fancy! Like I was at a restaurant. The best part: the kids wanted to try it. My 7 year old ate catfish for first time and loved it. They are learning about different types of foods. It's amazing. I receive my box Monday night (crockpot something Monday) and cook Blue Apron meals on Tuesday, Wed, Thursday. Friday is Pizza night. Weekends we are out.
Now you can always receive Friday and cook everything Sunday and reheat during the week. You have options.
Now if you don't like the recipe you have scheduled to receive you can switch it out. You can also stop whenever you want or pause a week and start up again.
I LOVE to cook. I hate to plan when I am already juggling after school schedules for three kids. Trust me you will love this!

BTW:Soon I will be getting free meals to send out. Message me if you're interested in trying. I have my extended family already interested since I keep making them a bowl to sample.

Halloween Tasty Treats
I love Halloween! Where you can dress up and be whatever you want to be. Where you can make sweet or spooky crafts and desserts. Below are two fun ones I found recently and will be trying out with the kids.
Pumpkin Tortilla Chips and Fun Salsa At Trader Joes
How perfect are these two! The chips are delicious. Have a nice pumpkin taste to them. With a hint of nutmeg. The Fall Harvest salsa has some mild heat to it. They pair together perfectly.

FitBit Challenge: Neck To Neck
My older sister and I are in heavy competition mode. I am not a good competitor I don't like competing BUT this time we are having fun with it and if I can lose some weight doing it so be it.
I stopped by her house this morning and she's already a thousand steps ahead of me. Man I have to get moving. We bring our two youngest to Costco. Racing down the aisle. Fighting over who will go to the back of the store to get an item we forgot. Not sure how we don't have a television show already.
This afternoon I go to my parents to get my children. I am only at 7700 steps. My goal is 10,000. I am hoping in place ringing the doorbell and she sees me in the window. She starts jogging in place.
I say I am going to play some basketball with my oldest to get some exercise and my sister steps in. It's on! All of a sudden her wrist vibrates. She reaches 10,000 I am trailing behind. Competition is one. I hit 10,000 steps in 19 mins of playing Basketball and we are a sweaty mess.
I am still trailing behind her but have surpassed my goal and am at 11846 steps. Just now I check her and I am trailing behind.
Guess I will be waking in my sleep...our steps saw far this week.

Presidential Debate...
Dear Readers,
We're screwed! We will need booze to get through the next four years.
Hi George...
A neighbor down the road has a pig. We don't know his name. One day we were driving by and spotted him. My 3 year old loves Peppa Pig so she named him George- after peppa's brother, the name stuck.
We drive by at least once a day and stop to see George. It doesn't matter what mood we are in once we pull up to the House we roll down the window and scream "Hi George". It has this little plastic pig toy and in the Summer on a hot day we joked that he shrunk. Sometimes it isn't outside and we say he must be sleeping.
So why I am making a big deal about this pig?
Well because something so little can create a bond and memory with you and someone else. Something so silly can make you pause for a second and smile and enjoy life. We all need moments like these. We have these moments everytime we see George and sometimes I take that extra route o the way home just to drive by and see him because it makes us all feel good and his tail wags too so he must enjoy it too.
The Real American Dream
Are you really living the American Dream? We all want it but are we living it? Well a client sent this to me and some things were on point. We hustle and bustle and want more and the traditions fade and the things that make us happy change. A lot. Marriages change. Goals change. Pretty interesting Ted Talk.

Apple Picking At Silverman's Farm In Easton CT
Was the perfect Fall morning to go Apple picking. It's one of my favorite things to do in the Fall. The place was packed but a worker gave us a tip that we could buy our picking bags inside to bypass a line outside. The bag we bought was $19.99 and held almost 10 lbs of apples.
We get our bags and go in line. So much entertainment. Super cute haystacks dressed like minions. Food vendors. Just a fun festive place.
