Yes I Will Give Thanks...Proud Mommy Moment
Change is hard. Especially when there are children involved. You want to focus on your happiness yet have theirs to focus on too. Every decision is torn due to how it will affect them yet bring happiness and peace in your life.
Today I received my daughter’s testing scores. These are standard testing across the district for her grade level. The report provides you with detailed information on your child’s academic progress and growth for the past couple of years to current.
I was blown away by my oldest progress. She’s always been super smart and outgoing. But this time the report showed me much more. The comparisons from 2017 to Spring 2019 proved a lot to me. She’s transitioned to a new school. Dealing with her parents having a divorce and moving into a new location. I couldn’t believe how all this change didn’t cause the harm you fear. She excelled every season. Every change.
I must admit the amount of love and happiness we surrounded our children with helped them transition easier with all this change. Their father and I always made sure we took time to make them happy and comfortable. Open communication is key in my household, to anything they had questions with or feared. I always said tell me even if I don’t want to hear it. What you feel is never going to be wrong.
With Mother’s Day around the corner it makes my heart happy to know that my girls are happy. I wouldn’t have done anything differently in my life. This path is the path we are meant to be on. My decisions in life have always been my choice a risk but worth every one of them.
She stopped at the store the other day and bought me this and said “Mom you need to know you’re the best mom I ever met.” I like to agree with her.

Are Your Core Values Aligned?
I see this all the time in my line of business. Many of my clients have set standard core values. It matters when hiring people to join their team or which clients they choose to work with. Everyone’s core values are different. A lot of times I tell my clients a client will not work out for them or a new hire for their organization because their core values do not align with the organization’s.
This is also a very overlooked yet important aspect you carry throughout life with relationships, friendships and even raising your children. Are your core values aligned with everyone who plays a role in your life? If not then things can never fully work out.

Being A Great Parenting Team Matters
Divorced or married whatever your status you must always focus on being a great parenting team. It may take some time but the main goal is to be able to communicate for the best interest of your children. Set aside any anger or pride and focus on what’s important: your children’s happiness. A safe place to come to with any problems and be able to have both parents communicate with respect. It gives you both peace. It means you both have to process before reacting. I am grateful, even if it took some time , that I am able to have civil conversations with my ex when problems or concerns arise. It’s a constant goal and work in progress but all parents need to remember you’re in it together.

A Good Relationship Is Easy, A Bad One Is Work
Being divorced after spending 20 years with someone taught me a lot. Even though I must admit I still have a lot to learn. This time around you learn that
“A good relationship is easy. If it’s not easy, it’s not that good.” EM Katz
I have met a lot of people on my new singles journey and it all boils down to you and your effort. Don’t disregard early clues that will later cause problems in a relationship. I came across this article that made sense as to how relationships can be good.
“The most important factor in a relationship is not communication, but respect”

Something To Think About...
It’s easy to forget. When someone may have not treated you the way you deserved. Anger overtakes you. But it’s also the worst thing for you. Stay away from those who don’t bring out the best in you. Surround yourself with those who do.

How Did You Celebrate Earth Day?
Earth Day was this week. To help celebrate some schools in our town did clean up day! Was cute to have my little helps out.

Saltwater Sono
Brussel sprout salad, sliders and Nutella crepes to end our meal. A night out always helps end the week off right. Good conversation helps heal the heart. Good food always makes the belly happy.

Laugh At The Little Things
I stopped into a doctors office for a yearly follow up. As I was waited a cute elderly couple walks in. The wife checks in while the husband takes a seat. After she approaches him like they were not together.
“Oh hello how are you?” She asks him “Fine not much to complain about not that anyone would listen anyway”. She takes a seat next to him and starts laughing. They flirt a little and then the nurse comes to get her. As she walks in front of her husband he’s rubbing her back.
I couldn’t help but smile.
Love like that is my goal. That silly banter. Sarcastic love. The one that comes naturally. Not forced. Where age isn’t a factor. Where you two still understand one another’s humor.
