Village Gourmet You Gotta Roll With It

It’s not easy working from home. People tend to think you’re always available and kids always are home when no school. I still have to work but today was different. 

I luckily wasn’t too busy. They come home this morning and I said here are some options for our day. Once we agreed I stuck to it. Work. Snack. Work. Lunch. Work. Halloween Costumes. Work. Dentist. Dinner. Cuddle on couch. Bed time. 

Parenting isn’t easy but can be fun. When you create a routine or schedule it’s easier to juggle it all. Now it’s one day. I get it. Maybe multiple days would be different but life is like this. 

We haven’t been to Village Gourmet in a long time. It was delicious as usually but this time we ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer and it was so good. I am always a fan of their chicken and string beans the girls love their scallion pancakes and dumplings. Also they are the only people I know who order lomein without any vegetables. But whatever it takes to make them happy. 

It was a great night.

Mecha Noodle Rocks...Pho Sure

Hello comfort food. Deliciousness in every bite. Not best pictures but trust me we could have order another round of everything!! 

Pork Boas, Mushroom dumplings- oh my these are amazing, red dumplings had a little heat but delicious, and then I got the “cure” and added shrimp to it. So delicious. I love the ambiance. I haven’t been in a while so when a friend suggested it I was like let’s go!

You Will Continue To Be Tested Until You Change

It was the same thing. A pattern. I said no. Not again and walked away. So many other opportunities to live a drama free life. Happy. Peacefully. 

You will be tested over and over until you learn your lesson. I will never put myself back into the same situation that once caused me pain and heartache. This time I am wiser and know the world is full of opportunities. 

I was talking to a girlfriend and told her and she said good you learned. I said “ I did. I broke my cycle. I am happy why would I repeat past mistakes.”

You must learn or you will repeat your cycles. You must learn so your life can change. 

I wasn’t tested on purpose and now know that part of my journey has come to an end.

I have been here before for pastries only so when a friend asked to grab breakfast here I was excited to go back. This time I got their ham, mushroom and Gouda cheese crepe. Delicious. I must admit their iced coffee is probably the best I have had in a long time. I bought a chocolate and almond croissant for the family to try. They loved them. The ambiance is nice too.

Pursue It All In Life Without Expectations.

I am not perfect. I have a lot to learn. But a girlfriend texted me and I said remember there are no rules. Do what you want to do. We get upset with unmet expectations when you don’t have expectations you cannot get upset, Right?! 

She replied thank you Yoda and I sent her this. 

Life isn’t what it was years ago. Everything has changed. The rules changed. What a man and woman role is has changed. When you go into a situation and say I am going to just be happy you enjoy it. Once it’s complicated you make the decision to leave or work on it. Early on signs are always there. What I don’t like about someone when I first meet them will be the cause of arguments later. You have to understand that. We go in blind. Happy. Then things happen and we act shocked. Nope. No need to be shocked. Take your loss and move on.  No more loving the wrong people or allowing them to come in and out of your life when it’s convenient for them or when they feel like it. You can love them from afar. You can love them forever doesn’t mean they deserve a spot in your life. 

You must follow your gut. Intuition. Souls awakening. The signs are there. Happiness is the main goal always. Remember that. Your happiness is your main goal.

These are my favorite donuts! They aren’t always on the menu so when I heard they were back I had to grab one. The outside has the sugar coated glaze and inside has vanilla custard. They are delicious!!

I love the smell of cinnamon. It’s calming. I normally get the pine cones that smell like cinnamon during Christmas. This time I saw these little brooms the size of your hands at Trader Joe’s. They make my whole kitchen smell like cinnamon. I LOVE it!

Forget the Rules

It’s good to know the rules. But then toss them aside. Life isn’t meant to be followed in a specific order. Everyone says what you need to do or should do. It’s good to know but then do what you want. 

All the rules don’t make sense if they aren’t making you happy. Adjust the rules to fit your life and needs. 

I have lived by this lately and must say I have changed. I go with it. No rules. Just wherever life takes me and for once I can say that 90% of happiness is feeling like 1,000%. 

Love your life. No rules. Just be good and respectful and do what makes your heart and soul happy.
