Always Look For The Positive

Today’s Fall Fun Activity: Candy Apples

When we went to Blue Jays in Bethel in their market store I found a kit for making candy apples. I wasn’t sure what else to do with all our apples. This was perfect. You just add the mix to a pot with water and sugar and let it boil. The mixture starts to thicken.

After pour it into a bowl and start dunking. You will see it start to harden.  Was a lot of fun to do with the kids.

S’mores & Fire Pits

I love fire pits. I love Adirondack chairs. I love s’mores Put them all together and I am one happy girl.

With covid still around I figured soon we won’t be able to hang places so a fire pit would be a fun activity to keep us busy.

Fall is the best and I plan on enjoying it as much as possible. What are you doing to embrace our new norm?

You’re in Control

We all have those days. Where everything spiral out of control. It’s hard to hold on to peace when it happens. Try. That’s all you can do. Try.

Try to see the positive side. Try venting it out and moving on. Try smiling at the positive moments. That’s all you have to do. That’s all that’s expected of you. To just try.

Matto Wine Bar Shelton

I have been here a couple of times and every time I go back it’s even better. The mussels with chorizo were my favorite. In a tomato broth and so Delicious. I can’t wait to go back for this dish. The California pizza was really good and the vodka sauce was probably the best I have had in a while.

I love how the cappuccino came with a rock candy. Reminded me of being a kid.

They have plenty of outdoor seating.

Apple Picking At Blue Jays in Bethel CT

I love Apple picking. I love getting cider and cider donuts (which Blue Jays market has the best ever tried) and seeing the kids walk through the orchards. I love seeing their little hands pick apples and call for me when they find a good one.

They had five different type of apples to choose from. I suggested we don’t taste them due to Covid so we got a variety. When we got home I did a white vinegar rinse on them to be safe and we have been enjoying them all week.

I bought the girls red plaid shirts. They joked I made them look like female lumberjacks. I said I didn’t care. One day they won’t be around to do this with me and something will remind them of Apple picking and they will miss it and say remember when mom made us look like female lumberjacks.

That’s what it’s about. Memories. Laughs. Cracking jokes but deep down appreciating the experience.

Cherish the moments you have. The now. Everything always ends up changing. Embrace the moments when you can.

Take The Risk...

Put yourself out there. Apply for the new job. Open your heart in your relationship. Risk it. Why? Because what if it’s the best thing to ever happen to you? What could possibly go wrong? You fail and start again...doesn’t matter. Take that chance.

Communication Is Key!

Gratitude...Beyond Grateful

I won’t lie. I was annoyed. I was venting. I was mad. It was a lot on me. A lot. I knew and know that you can’t expect people to do good for you and you get in back in other ways. Yet I was still so annoyed with this one person.

Then it hit me. It’s like a sense of peace came over me from no where. Gratitude . For everything. People all around me were helping me and making life easier for me and instead of appreciating it I was mad at the one person who wasn’t and who never ever really did to be honest. Yet I gave my focus to that one person instead of all the rest who have.

You have to stop yourself when this happens. When that one person doesn’t do justice for you or love you how you need to be loved or treat you with respect. Let that go. All of it. Because if you pay attention you’ll
notice all the other people who do and that is where your gratitude comes from. You give thanks for those people and don’t take them for granted. You shift your focus. Trust me. It makes life so much more enjoyable.

Meanwhile all these people did everything to make me happy and I was busy angry. I stopped myself and said Jay look at the whole picture. Look at everyone making you happy. Look at all you have and the joy and be grateful. So I did and everything since that day I shifted my energy and focus. I gave thanks and felt grateful.

I love it here. I especially love it when they have seasonal treats. Pumpkins for $3.99. Fun fall food. It’s a perfect way to let go of Summer and welcome Fall! 🍁
