What’s Your Word?
I keep seeing this. Over and over. Articles. Posts. Even the image above is from a post I saw. So I finally jumped on the bandwagon and thought about it.
What’s my word for 2021? I don’t think it’s so much of the word but the result. What do you want for this year or change for your life? When you think of your life what word shows up.
Enough was mine. It’s all enough. I want to accept things fully as being enough. I am enough. Everything around me enough. My relationship is enough. My duties as a parent and worker is enough.
Meaning it’s the best of me and I will know it’s enough. I have all I need and want at this time in my life. This chapter. I have enough. I am not going to strive to get more material things or push myself to exhaustion. I am already enough. You’re enough too.
I have just the right amount of things.
I never thought I would reference to it like that. Just the word kept coming up in my mind. Enough. I have just enough to make me feel completely whole. Not lacking. Not too much. Just enough.
It actually feels amazing to say that.
*Meaning of Enough: 1 : in or to a degree or quantity that satisfies or that is sufficient or necessary for satisfaction : sufficiently. 2 : fully, quite he is qualified enough for the position. 3 : in a tolerable degree she sang well enough
Happy Sunday
Be proud of how far you’ve come. You’re not who you were. That’s progress. That’s healing. That’s growth. 💓

Spread Some Love Even In Sad Times
A tragic situation happened this week and my cousin turned it into spreading love. She baked us all heart shaped cookies and did the rounds of dropping them off to all of us.
When a time to heal meant to spread love it showed how you can change some situations around, how short life can be and it’s never too much to tell people you love them.
Spread love whenever you can. Even when sad situations approach you.
Words Matter
Ever sit and think and then replay a conversation in your head?
Like you can hear their voice and a wave of emotions come over you. You wish you responded differently or didn’t fake it as if you didn’t let it brother you. But then when the conversation replays in your head that’s when you wish you didn’t take it. You wish you responded differently.
Words matter. Always. Watch how you make someone feel. One day your words will replay in their head. Your words do matter.
Always!

Don’t Rush The Process
Don’t rush. Don’t get inpatient. Just let it all flow. We, well I, used to always want to know the outcome so I rushed it. I had doubt if I didn’t get fast results along the way. I didn’t enjoy the process and would react.
No one knows how anything will turn out. Just let it flow. Enjoy the process and love every step of the way.

Let’s Play Chess
I haven’t played in over 25 years. Weird right? I just never had the opportunity. My uncle used to play so when my boyfriend told me he’s been playing since he was in the Navy I said I would like to try it again. I haven’t played in so long.
He brought his board over and since then we have been playing. He left it at my place so I could play with my oldest. Ironically she wasn’t that interested but my little ones were.
My middle one is pretty amazing. She’s not shy to take risks. She’s pretty aggressive in her moves. My youngest asked for me to take it easy on her which of course I did but her too understood all the moves really fast.
Chess-a simple yet complex game. A friend said it’s easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master. I have to agree!
Healthy Discussions
I don’t like the word arguing. I like discussions. Why? Because who the hell likes to argue? Not me but I always am up for a healthy discussion.
Disagreements are normal. We will tend to have them with people throughout our lifetime. But you must be respectful. You must honor the fact that no two people think alike.
Talk it out. When in doubt talk it out. I always love people I can learn from. I may not agree with their beliefs but it does educate me. Treat misunderstandings as a process to learn from one another.
There’s no need to get physical or loud. You can agree to disagree while still respecting each other and creating a healthy outcome so you both have an understanding that makes your relationship/friendship, mind and knowledge stronger.
Did You Set Your Goals?
We started this last year New Year. I wrote all of our names on a separate piece of paper and we listed some goals we had for ourselves and even suggested to others some goals they should work on. We then tape them to the fridge so they are reminders to us throughout the year.
It’s actually a great reflection too and I am surprised my girls are ok with it. I listed mine and asked my girls what should I add to mine. Then we went around a circle and everyone did the same thing.
It’s not to insult anyone or to make their weaknesses known. It’s about accepting we always are a work in progress and should always find was to better ourselves.
Mine were to practice more mindfulness, increase physical activities, do more yoga and be more patient and understanding.
What goals did you set for yourself? It doesn’t have to be in the New year. It can be every week or month or whatever you like. Just always be sure to work on bettering yourself so you can better the people around you and be better for the people around you.
