Take Me To The....Netherlands
This month’s Universal Yums comes from Netherlands.
I got this box for kids and parents for Christmas. Every month they get a box from a different country. You can’t pick the country. It’s a surprise. This month was Netherlands.
It’s really important for me that my kids are exposed to different cultures. This is a fun way for them to try food from around the world.

The Adventure Challenge Family & Couples
I am so excited to try these this weekend. I had to get the bundle. With a coupon (NYFAM) I was able to save and I didn’t purchase the camera. So now it’s all about trying something new.
Covid has made it difficult in the winter to have some fun and my creative juices are fading so I figured this book could help us. There are 50 scratch adventures to choose from in each book.
Now I get to try them with my kids and then have adult adventures with my boyfriend. Stay tuned....
Book Box Norwalk Library
I love this idea. The Norwalk library is offering Book Boxes for kids in grades 4-12. They fill out a form of preference to type of book. You go to the door and they hand you a box. It has two books for the kids to borrow. Snacks and fun little gifts inside.

Game Night: Pictionary
We played this the other night. I actually played for hours one night with my boyfriend and his family. It was so much fun.
It was a bit hard for the little ones. We had them pick the easiest to draw but it was a little frustrating at times for them. Definitely perfect for kids 10 and older. Also perfect for a fun Adult night in!

Arequipe & Wafers
My middle one kept asking for me to buy more of
the mini dulce de leche cups. I stopped in the local
Colombian store and saw these too. Arequipe is the Colombian version of dulce de leche.
It’s a little nutter and dark. It’s delicious. The little packages came with the wafers.
And are perfect on top of the wafers.
Game Night: Monopoly
I forgot how much fun monopoly was. We were taking about it a couple weeks ago and my middle one said her friends mentioned the Game. I ordered it to add to our game night and let me tell you the two little ones did awesome. My youngest was a little hustler buying up properties. She ended up beating us all.
It’s a great way to do math too. Having them pay or collect money. How to know when to hold off or purchase due to the amounts of funds you have. There’s a lot of strategy involved too.

What’s Brewing?
Picture this...
Cozy night in. Fun board games. Comfort food- turkey chili. Cozy drinks. Ending it with a good Netflix movie.
Covid has helped us get creative. Tonight is peach tea- caffeine free. With oranges and cloves and cinnamon in boiled water and top with your favorite alcoholic beverage or no liquor at all.

No one is living the perfect life. Perfect doesn’t exist. Be kind. We all struggle with something.
Be Your Best Self
Is your cup empty? Filling your cup means taking time for you. Doesn’t matter what you choose to do with that time as long as it helps you focus on you. Be sure to make time for that.
No one else can make you happy. That’s only at the surface. Be your best version and then you can be good to others.

The Baking Curse...Take The Time To Do Things Right
I was never the best baker but pretty good. Lately I have a baking curse on me. Not sure why. Baking is very tricky. You must always follow directions. You can’t skip corners. You can’t wing it.
It’s really a lesson for me. Why? Because I always rushed things. Decisions. Baking. Whatever. I didn’t want to do that anymore.
So I joked that my baking curse was here to stay but then last night I gave it another try. I baked. They came out delicious and then my kids walked in and said mom what happened to your cookies. What do you mean I asked and walked over to the tray.
Well all the Hershey kisses melted. Yep. I didn’t put them on the cooling rack soon enough. The heat from the tray melted the Hershey kisses.
What’s my point?
My point is whenever you think you got it right you don’t. You don’t just assume you can stop improving. Life makes these minor switches in your life. Important to detail matters. Taking your time matters. Stop winging things. Take the time to do it right.
What Are You Attracted To?
It’s so not boring. I have had a lot of different types of people in my life and calm is not boring. It’s actually my absolute favorite type. Where you can have heathy discussions. Where you don’t trigger emotions. It’s maturity. It’s having emotional intelligence. It’s having self control.
I highly recommend that. What are YOU attracted to?

Let’s Paint
I always loved to paint. I had an easel at my old house and would paint. It’s very therapeutic. It’s being care free and letting your mind let go and be free. I had the girls paint with me today. You have to overlook the mess to enjoy it. Just let your mind go and be creative.
