Fill Your Cup Or Jar

I love this jar. A friend of mine gave it to me years ago. I used to fill it with items whatever season it was. Now we fill it with memories of the year. On Jan 1st of the new year we read all the great events that took place up until that day and we get to reminisce about the memories we created together.

Filling our cup means something different. We fill our jar with happy memories. Things we can look back on and smile about. Laughs about. Cherish.

This morning I added some events to it. It’s great to add as we go.

It’s a lot of fun. I highly suggest you do it. Life is always so busy. We forget the fun we have. This helps remind us.

Are You Being Understood

Are you being understood. Trust me you will find someone who speaks your language.

I can’t communicate with some people. Image that? I am vocal. Don’t hold back. Process before reacting and I still have people in my life who I just can’t communicate with. I just can’t understand how they think.

Then I have people who understand me 100%. I can sit in silence with them and be at peace. My boyfriend brings this wave of calmness to me. We can discuss anything. Even if we don’t agree we still can discuss thinks so easily. It’s really amazing to me.

My best friend always understood me. That’s probably why we have been best friends for over 30 years.

It’s amazing because I always think is it me. But then I realize it’s them too. People bring out this side of you. They either jibe with you or don’t.

Look Forward To What Is Coming Next

You can't stay in limbo. It is like living the same day over and over and over thinking things will change. Well they won't. Trust me. Change has to happen with your effort. Being happy has a lot to do within your own self. Once you have that no one can steal that from you.

Let go of the past. Be grateful for what your life is like in this moment. Embrace what is coming!

Maybe It Is Me Who Changed

I was talking to someone today about a situation and after I realized maybe it was me. Maybe within the year I was the one who did the changing. Maybe I let people out of my life because they didn't fit with who I am today.

I realized I need calm. I need structure. I always have. But I needed it so much due to the last year we had. I needed to be around calm people. Calm situations. Dependable people.

I swear life has changed a ton since I reached a level of calmness. I do not want drama or chaos. I want people I can depend on. No one who comes and goes. Who cancels plans. No one who is late. I need dependable people. People who keep their word. People who do what they say. No games. No unsteadiness.

At this age that's what we need. Steadiness. We need solid people. Last year I had a ton of different people in my life. Why? Maybe they were to help me become who I am today. SO I thank them from a far but also grateful for the growth. I welcome that, always.

Love Yourself...

Barcelona Norwalk

I love Barcelona in Norwalk. I loved I didn’t have to cook too. We toasted to good health and the vaccine. Really any excuse to enjoy a meal with good company is always fun for me. Paella was delicious. Their tapas are so fun. I always loved this place.

Got My Vaccine Today!

Got my vaccine today. Felt like we are making a part of history. When we know one day our kids kids kids will talk about years ago their family had to deal with Covid. Stay in quarantine. Homeschool a year. Not be able to hug or shake anyone’s hand.  Seems so surreal!

I went to Stamford Health Center. They setup a whole new building just for the vaccine. Last week I was able to get an appointment right away. Originally I signed up through VAMs and had an appointment in July. It seemed so far away. So my sister saw this site and we all got in this week.

I was so excited at first but once I parked the nerves set in. I was really doing this. I figure if the President of the USA trusted it then I should. We are all
taking a vaccine that we have no idea about the side affects yet the risk is worth it verse getting Covid.

So my brave self went in and everyone was amazing! Every two steps was someone directing you where to go. Smiling. Asking me how I was. I felt so taken care of. I made an appointment for two weeks for my second dose. It was the easiest process I ever experienced and so far my arm feels fine. Tip relax your arm. I was tense and the nurse told me to relax and I did and it worked.

Be sure to get a clear plastic cover on the table in the room you have to wait in after the shot. You want it to protect your vaccine card.

You got this!

You Inspire Others

I love this so much! It’s so true.

It’s Not Loving Someone...It’s The Pain That Takes Place After

Love isn’t scary. Love is amazing. It’s awesome. You feel youthful and energetic and who doesn’t love to be loved. BUT we avoid it from past pain. From past experiences where we did love and then pain followed.

I had a lot of experience with this unfortunately but I swear I still give love a try because I rather find the right one then continue to hurt from the wrong one. You can’t find the right one if you hold onto pain.

Give love a chance. No matter how many negative experiences you face.

Easter Traditions...Well Mine

*Chocolate egg

Easter bunny, egg hunts, coloring eggs...yes those are all Easter Traditions. But I have a couple more that make the occasion really special.

I am first generation here. My family is Italian. One never would guess until I speak Italian or they come over to my parents for our famous Sunday Lunch. These are my Italian traditions that always make Easter extra special for me.

First is the large chocolate egg. As a kid we got our own and it has a little toy inside. This one was dark chocolate.

The other is Pastiera Napoletana. It’s like grain pie. We always have to this time of year. Sometimes we have it with rice in it. Delicious.

Panatone or Panna Cioccolato

Which has creame inside and it’s an Italian pastry. Great with coffee. We also have this during Christmas too.

What are some of your family traditions?

Happy Easter from my family to yours!

Easter Bread

It came out PERFECT this year. One trick was I mixed all the ingredients by hand and covered it and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Next morning you knead it and let it sit out to reach room temperate.

Everyone loved it. My boyfriend said it came out like a professional made it.

I love serving it with hard boiled eggs and topping the bread with cream cheese or butter.

I do like mine with cinnamon and sugar in the mix. You can add anything in the dough. Raisins- just soak them first, chocolate chips. Even a hard boiled egg on top. I top with an egg wash. Sprinkles and cinnamon and sugar.

It’s delicious and not too sweet.

Here’s my recipe. Enjoy!

Happy Easter!!
