Bringing Back Your Norm

It’s been over a year. Way too long. I love this group. My “mommy friends” started out 7 years ago being together and even though now we are friends we like to add the mommy part because our kids brought us together.

We went to Amis Trattoria in Westport. Delicious. They ran out of sangria so we had lemonchello spritzer. We have octopus and my brown butter chicken was delicious! Would totally go back.

I love how the tunnel has lights hanging. We sat out back and it was perfect.

So wonderful to be with friends and even though it’s been a year it feels just like where we left off.

Change Your Patterns

Stop reacting. All together. Don’t respond. Don’t yell. Don’t do what you have done.

Observe. Listen. Process.

Trust me you will change your life. Patterns.

You don’t need to always be running in circles. When you change the way you do things the results change.

Give Out More Love

When Your Families Begin To Blend

It looks like something you find outside. No biggie. Right. But this little thing brought a smile to my face today when I found it in my living room. Something so simple. So easy.

Let me explain...

When you’re a single parent you become really guarded. You step up and think you don’t want to allow anyone in unless you’re really sure. You don’t want your kids meeting people you date unless you’re really sure.

So for years my kids never met anyone I dated. Then I met my boyfriend. It started casual. Easy. And then it blossomed. Fast. Fun. We just flowed with it. We then took it up to another level.

I met his daughter. He met my kids. We then had them meet. Before you know it we are a little family. Kids play. We hang out together. We love eachother. It’s natural. No pressure. Just fun.

So last night at my oldest baseball game my boyfriend was teaching my kids tricks with this little leaf. Not even sure what it is. He showed them how to make music with it and he stuck it on his nose and theirs. They laughed a lot and it’s so simple and easy. But they are so comfortable with him and I just watched and loved him even more because of it.

When my girls play with him or lay next to him and they are comfortable it makes my heart grow knowing after waiting all this time I chose the right one in.

When I am with his daughter I treat her like she’s mine because it’s a natural instinct to just be good to kids. Yours or not they are influenced by you. They look up to you. They admire you and you have to be good to them. My philosophy has always be the more the merrier what’s one more kid. I love them together  I love us together. Being all together always makes me happy. Knowing they are happy all together makes me happy too.

Don’t Like Where You Are...

This Month’s Box Is From....

Turkey...

So funny since my client sent me a box from
Turkey and the Universal Yums box is from
Turkey.

I love when these come in. I let the girls go through it and we then put it on the table at Sunday lunch so everyone can enjoy it too.

This looks extra fun for the kids to try.

Your Daily Reminder

It’s Clay Time

I haven’t don’t this in years. This was my birthday gift from my boyfriend and it was so fun. I always loved the pottery wheel. It’s much harder than I remember. But after a while we got the hang of it and I think our pieces came out cool.

We get to go back and paint it. I love date nights like these. It’s fun to be able to do something different together.

We had a private lesson so was nice to have one on one guidance.

You Can Be Happy Even When Things Aren’t Perfect

It’s A lot Of Work...Parenting Is No Joke

Grateful for being their mom and grateful for my mom
Parenting is not joke. This is so hard yet so rewarding. Weird right?!

How something so magical can be so draining. Yet everything good in life is that way. Highs and lows. Good and bad. It’s all part of the process.

What hit me most wasn’t the gifts they got me. It was other moms who texted me and said I admire you. That hit me today. That I don’t brag about my journey because I am by far not the perfect Mom but I bust my tush trying to be. I try really hard to love them and be there for them 100% no matter what. No matter where I am or what I am doing. I give them my all. What hit me was other moms saying how lucky my girls are to have me and how they look up to me.

They are moms too. So for anyone I can help
I will. For anyone watching please know I too have bad days. Hard days. Rough days. I too question if I can do better and be better. So thank you. Thank you for watching. Thank you to my kids for picking me.
Thank you to my mom for being my go to for everything and anything.

All we can do is try. I hope you know today and everyday you admire other moms too.

Happy Communion Day

It was her first communion today. My middle one. She was so nervous. Then she showed up at church and was perfect. She looked great. Happy. Relaxed.

After we celebrated at her favorite restaurant. Matto in Shelton. It was perfect. The food was delicious as always. Everyone was happy. The waiter was so good at his job. Everyone left feeling loved and full.

Normally we would have our extended family there but with Covid and vaccines and things so up in the air we kept it our close, intimate group.

It worked out really well and she was so happy.
We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration.
