Parenthood: Making Your Kids Happy Even If They Cheer for the Wrong Team
We are Yankees Baseball Fans. We meaning her dad,my dad, my sister... Yet my oldest daughter has switched gears and became a Mets Fan. One may say to bust my hubby or because her cousins are fans or because one day she heard a controversial story about a Yankee player and changed gears. Regardless two years later I found myself buying Mets shirts for the whole family and heading to Citi Field. My husband joked he was putting on a Yankees jersey but after some time
gave into the fact that as parents you do a lot of things you don't want to do to make your kids happy.
Her school was doing a Mets Game to raise money for PTO so we can voucher we did it for a good reason but reality is the kids had a blast and I got to
Check out the stadium . I say the next game should be the Boston Red Sox. I mean while we are at it we might as well check out the team I loved growing up- even if it was just because I loved the team colors.

No Pie Crust Needed Apple Crumb
No pie crust needed for this delicious treat! Core the center of the apples. I used a spoon to scrape out the center. Chop apples. In a pan melt a stick of butter. Mix apples and butter. Add in cinnamon and sugar. Add flour and water mixture ( 1 tablespoon of flour, 2 tsp of water) to the pot. This acts like a thickening agent. Mix and turn off.
In a separate bowl add a box of yellow cake mix. Add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix. Top with 1 stick of melt butter. Scoop apple and butter mixture into apples. Top with yellow cake mixture. Bake at 375 for 45 mins. Delicious! This recipe filled 16 apples.

Apple Picking At Blue Jay Orchards in Bethel CT
Nothing prepares you for the fun of Fall like Apple Picking. It was tough this year where to decide to go since we have been to a ton of Orchards but we wanted to try someplace new and had no regretss Blue Jay Orchards in a Bethel was perfect! No big hills. Delicious apples, gala was our favorite. You walk across the street and they have a scenic hayride $4 a person or go in their store and pick up your pies, Apple cider and of course cider donuts. The market is filled with amazing goodies and pretty big too. So you get a small bag for $20 or large bag for $40. I know sounds expensive but we picked a ton of apples and it's a day out. Love creating these memories with my family. My father wants to go back in a couple weeks when his Macouns will be available to pick.

Best Food Truck Bacon Egg & Cheese by Eggz Kitchen
Every once in a while I crave a Bacon Egg & Cheese. Problem with this craving is it won't go away until I eat a really good one. So I am walking around the Westport Farmers Market yesterday and make eye contact with another mom who I spot has a Bacon egg and cheese resting on her stroller and it looks amazing. She says to me where did you get your cup of flavored water, I respond I won't tell until you tell me where you got that bacon egg and cheese. We laugh and I point her to The Stand that sells $3 bottles of water infused with lemons,basil, fruit, super amazing and always my first stop on Thursdays at the market. She points me to the direction of the food truck, which going forward on Thursdays my second stop will be the Eggz food truck. Freezing Moo In Fairfield CT
We finally brought the kids and it was awesome. You pick your flavor ice cream. They pour the liquid on a cold, round, steel dish and smash it around. You say what syrup you want inside. They make a cute cartoon on it then they use a sharp blade knife and push it up to create a roll. You get to pick three toppings. Keep in mind Oreo topping isn't crushed Oreos. It's a Oreo cookie. Car Show...Close To Home
I grew up around cars so it really has to be something pretty awesome to get a "wow" out of me. My parents own an auto body shop so ever since I could remember my dad would bring home really cool cars. He bought three antiques and gave each of his daughters one I ended up painting mine Susan Komen Pink. It's pretty cool. People have rang my doorbell and said they wanted to buy it for their daughters. But it's not for sale. So today we are at a Picnic of a vendor of my dad's and they are having a car show near by. My Pop comes up to me and says "let's go for a walk, I want you to see the car I painted" Car is valued close to 100k. Now was it amazing yes, but seeing the look in my dad's eyes made it even more amazing.

My girls are very fortunate and we are grateful to have two sets of awesome grandparents in their lives. Always willing to help or hang or fill them up with kisses and love. Wishing them and all the amazing grandparents an awesome day!

Praying For Florida

Slice Of Saugatuck 2017 Westport CT
What an awesome event! It was a last minute decision to check it out and we can't wait to go again next year. So you pay an entrance fee and you get to walk around and taste some amazing places. Meantime there is entertainment for the kids, fire station had them check out fire safety house, ride the truck. Bounce houses in different areas. A balloon character person
You get to taste one place each with your "Passport" ticket. You walk around and hand in your card and they mark it off and you taste whatever the restaurant is offering. Viva Zapata gave fish tacos, Match Lobster Burgers handed out truffle fries-real truffle not oil, Saugatuck Sweets gave vanilla and chocolate ice cream. My favorite was Kawa Ni, they handed out Heirloon Tomato Pockets. Amazing. Donut Crazy- delicious donuts- Cookie Monster, red velvet with fudge and brownies on top. We had a party of five so got five things everywhere we went. It was awesome. I was so full. We hit off 14 spots. Must say I spent $22 for a day of fun, good eats and great memories. Can't wait to go back to the new places and check out their full menu.

Mothered Out...Is It Friday Yet?
This is so me. Is it Friday yet? Friday nights are my nights, why?! Because I do the mothering every day of the week and need a "me" night. Doesn't mean always going out, sometimes it's just coffee alone or with friends. Sometimes it's chick flicks on my sister's couch. Sometimes it's running errands alone. Regardless, we all deserve, earn, need, ME time. Do you grant yourself yours?

Pray For Texas
It's Monday and well besides my Mom, not really sure who else loves Mondays and is eager to jump out of bed to start the day. I felt guilty this morning waking up in a warm bed in a dry house and seeing images of people in Texas literally getting around their neighborhood in a boat, while hating it's Monday. Just awful and when it comes to Mother Nature you just can't predict how bad it will be I have spoken to people in Texas before the storm hit and one lady told me her friends in the bad areas refused to leave, nowadays you can't help but wonder: how they are, how they should of listened and left and how now emergency personnel are risking their lives to help others. But again, could you get up and leave all your belongings, just an awful decision to make.

Hey Stamford Food Festival 2017
What an awesome event! The park is huge and you don't feel like it's crowded. The food truck line up was insanely delicious from the Fat Elvis donut from the awesome Donut Crazy to an awesome combo of arugal/vodka sauce topped with prosciutto pizza from Dough Girls, and the best taco
I ever had from Hapa Food Truck. Drewba Q cup of goodness- pulled chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese topped with cole slaw was amazing and Pito Sofrito fries topped with sauces cheese and pulled pork was an unforgettable combo. Even the Peach Beer added a nice touch with the delicious eats. We had an awesome day- sisters day out and can't wait to do it again next year!
Dough Girls Food Truck
Huge shout out to dough girls. I won tickets to the Hey Stamford Food Festival from them and had to stop by to say hi super sweet gals and amazing pizza! They actually have an awesome oven on the truck- talk about super fresh. We ordered their arugula, vodka sauce pizza- amazing!

Happy Clean Scans For Me...
Every 6 months I go to Hammers Imaging in New Haven for neck ultrasounds. It's kind of frustrating driving 45 mins to get there and back for a 15 minute scan BUT Hammers Imaging in New Haven is probably the best ultrasound place I have ever been to and well when it comes to your health it is worth the drive, so after a clean scan I decide to treat myself and pick up what may be the best reward ever Maple Bacon Donut from Donut Crazy! Cheers to my almost 5 year Mark!
