Apple Picking At Blue Jays in Bethel CT
I love Apple picking. I love getting cider and cider donuts (which Blue Jays market has the best ever tried) and seeing the kids walk through the orchards. I love seeing their little hands pick apples and call for me when they find a good one.
They had five different type of apples to choose from. I suggested we don’t taste them due to Covid so we got a variety. When we got home I did a white vinegar rinse on them to be safe and we have been enjoying them all week.
I bought the girls red plaid shirts. They joked I made them look like female lumberjacks. I said I didn’t care. One day they won’t be around to do this with me and something will remind them of Apple picking and they will miss it and say remember when mom made us look like female lumberjacks.
That’s what it’s about. Memories. Laughs. Cracking jokes but deep down appreciating the experience.
Cherish the moments you have. The now. Everything always ends up changing. Embrace the moments when you can.
Take The Risk...
Put yourself out there. Apply for the new job. Open your heart in your relationship. Risk it. Why? Because what if it’s the best thing to ever happen to you? What could possibly go wrong? You fail and start again...doesn’t matter. Take that chance.

You Set The Standards
What you accept is up to you. I don’t think we realize that. We think we are stuck or that people will change. The bottom line is we accept behaviors and it’s up to us to set the standards to what we will and won’t accept at anytime of our relationship.

Gratitude...Beyond Grateful
I won’t lie. I was annoyed. I was venting. I was mad. It was a lot on me. A lot. I knew and know that you can’t expect people to do good for you and you get in back in other ways. Yet I was still so annoyed with this one person.
Then it hit me. It’s like a sense of peace came over me from no where. Gratitude . For everything. People all around me were helping me and making life easier for me and instead of appreciating it I was mad at the one person who wasn’t and who never ever really did to be honest. Yet I gave my focus to that one person instead of all the rest who have.
You have to stop yourself when this happens. When that one person doesn’t do justice for you or love you how you need to be loved or treat you with respect. Let that go. All of it. Because if you pay attention you’ll
notice all the other people who do and that is where your gratitude comes from. You give thanks for those people and don’t take them for granted. You shift your focus. Trust me. It makes life so much more enjoyable.
Meanwhile all these people did everything to make me happy and I was busy angry. I stopped myself and said Jay look at the whole picture. Look at everyone making you happy. Look at all you have and the joy and be grateful. So I did and everything since that day I shifted my energy and focus. I gave thanks and felt grateful.
Feeling Fallish at Trader Joe’s
I love it here. I especially love it when they have seasonal treats. Pumpkins for $3.99. Fun fall food. It’s a perfect way to let go of Summer and welcome Fall! 🍁

Getting Older
This is so true. You let things slide. You look at things differently. You choose your battles. You don’t figure it out.

Happiness & Success What’s The Difference?
Happiness and Success...
How many times did you think “ I will be happy when...” But sometimes happiness is simple. It’s not linked to a goal it’s link to you inside. When you connect within and can be happy doing something so simple or so adventurous. It’s an equal stimulation.
When you are fully connected within that’s when true happiness occurs.

Maybe Kids Are Intuitive
I just finished writing the post about homeschool when my middle one said mom come into the kitchen and see what I did.
I walked and saw that she cleared the table of all the homeschooling papers and pencils and set up the table like I do everyday after school is complete.
Maybe they do listen. Maybe they do already appreciate all I do without even having to ask. That alone is a better award than anything else.
Oh Homeschooling...Pray For Me
It’s almost impossible to have your routine back. Everything has changed. Deciding to keep the kids home has not been easy. I constantly remind myself it’s for their best interest. But deep down I keep missing my routine. It’s not easy facing this challenge as a single parent where it’s all on you. All day every school day. No help not even a snack being packed or anything to help reduce the toll. You start to begin to realize it’s 100% on you while trying to work and maintain your own workload and responsibilities. You have to change all doctor appointments and workouts are now super early morning before school starts. Even work calls have to change and I find myself walking up the driveway just to be able to take a work call in peace.
No ones schedule lines up. I feel I have been constantly cooking and cleaning and helping and signing on apps and helping spell words and cleaning and handing out snacks. Not sure how they get 2-3 now a day but they do.
I tried getting work done today and draining out the chaos with music on my headset. The minute I suggested they raise their hand if they needed my help they all did. Hence the picture above. It’s not easy so if you’re doing this I pray for you. It may age you like it’s aging me.
It’s not even a full week yet and I find myself looking up articles to inspire and suggest ways for me to cope. No one gets it unless they are doing it too. So for the parents who are alone and doing this I want you to know your kids will appreciate you. Kids are very smart. My girls always say thanks for breakfast and snack and lunch everyday. You help us so much they say. Their appreciation does make the chaos more manageable. Stay positive and know one day things will go back to normal. You are doing it for them. To keep them safe. They know they can depend and rely on you. That alone makes it worth it. I hope.

How to Reduce the Stress of Homeschooling on Everyone
Focus on YOU Too
💗
There was a time when what everyone wanted and needed I provided. Now I have changed. I carved in my time and needs too. You have to do the same. Of course the kids come first but you need to be good to you too.
