It all began when my youngest was three. She wanted breakfast in bed. On her birthday. Every year. She always asked. Her request repeated and I continued to do it.
Then her sisters were born and they joined in too.
So now every year. For everyone’s birthday. Everyone gets to enjoy breakfast in bed. They pick the day and the meal.
For years I used whatever random serving trays I had. This year I finally said trays for all. It makes it easier and special.
Our tradition grew and now my boyfriend and his daughter get to join in on the fun.
It’s always easiest when the kids request food out. I do try to add extra loving to the tray. And we always have to stick a candle in and sing.
A tradition so small yet so rewarding. They remember it. They ask for it. They all get to enjoy it. It’s a treat for everyone.
