“But you’ve been away” yeah it’s true. I have had some awesome trips this last year for work where I extended some days to have fun but it’s not the same. This trip is a mindless trip.
I was cleaning out my trunk this morning for tomorrow’s road trip and this sand clip took me back. To the waves and calmness to the naps and late night sipping on wine on the deck while we play board games all night. Early walks to the beach followed by day shopping.
The laughs. Oh the stories. This group is a good group. We are four gals who are simple yet adventurous and can party or hang. Whichever mood we are in.
Cape Cod has always been like a second home. I have been going almost every year for the last 20 years. A goal of mine to get my own beach house one day. It’s a quiet little town with amazing seafood. Awesome beaches and bays and a ton of shopping opportunities. Night life of live music and karaoke.
I can hardly wait.
We pack up my mini van and take off. Even the car ride itself is comical. Blasting music. Telling our lastest life stories. Some serious. Some hit home. Some make us laugh until our stomachs hurt.
Yep. That type of getaway.
We always stop in Mystic on the way back. Eat at our favorite restaurant order our favorite bottle of wine. Maybe kayak the Mystic River if we have time. It helps us not be sad that our Cape Cod trip is over.
The little things in life. The chill J comes out. Relaxed. Creative. It helps my brain organize and tap into some goals.
Where’s your favorite escape?
