You Just Know...

Fine isn’t an option. It never should be. Never settle for fine. Believe you deserve more than fine and you will get it.

Oh 2020 Humor

I hope you all have electricity and if not I hope it gets restored soon.  But really has anyone seen an Eversource truck around town?

Always Look For The Positive

The Blue Oar Restaurant in Haddam CT

We were cruising along and saw a sign for this place. You pull in and it’s like a boat yard. You cross over tracks and below a long steep hill in the corner is this awesome cute restaurant on the river.

All the picnic tables were different bright colors. The menu is small yet delicious. We got shrimp salad and lobster roll. Their potato salad was delicious and for dessert key lime pie. It’s a casual spot and they only take cash. No liquor.

Was the perfect summer spot for lunch.

Enjoy The Adventures Of Your Life

Did you know you could rent a motorcycle for the day? What a cool find. We talked about spending a day riding around Connecticut so when he sent me pictures of a bike I couldn’t believe we were actually doing it.

I haven’t been on a motorcycle since Highschool. Yeah long time ago. I was a bit nervous but knew he was responsible and trusted him. He had bikes for years so it wasn’t new for him. But since he sold his it was nice for him to ride again. It was the most amazing experience. We rode for hours. We started in Durham, CT. Went to Haddam, Chester and Middletown. We spent all day riding past lakes and ponds and little towns. Farms and barns. It was so relaxing.

It was a gorgeous day. Not too hot. Perfect for riding. The roads up in those areas do not have a lot of traffic.

Did you know bikers have their own wave to other bikers? I didn’t until we were riding and I saw them all doing it. It’s a lowerwave down near your leg or a lower peace sign. We always did the left lower hand wave. Learn it here Every biker did it to us and you do it back. It’s a sort of mutual respect.

We had helmets with blue tooth so we could talk to one another the entire ride. I loved it.

I felt like I was a teenager again. It was an amazing day.

When was the last time you were adventurous? What adventures have you been wanting to take?

Always Look At The Bright Side Of Things

Everything is an experience. Nothing is a waste of time. I had a guy I dated who never tried Indian food. He built up the courage and we went to an Indian restaurant and he actually enjoyed the meal I ordered for us.

I love trying new places. It’s great meeting people in different towns and checking out some of their favorite restaurants. I love being able to share my experiences with my family and friends and well you all.

Nothing is a waste. You always learn from people and if you get a couple of fun meals out of it too well then you won!

Fairytales...They Do Exist

We ALL deserve our fairytale...be sure to create the life you want. To embrace love and people who want to love you. Forget anything that isn’t aligned with your happiness. Yeah being happy isn’t a bad thing it’s actually encouraged. 💗

Take Me Back To The 80’s

What and What Doesn’t Define You

July 30th Love Yourself More

What’s Love Gotta Do With It?

Is Your Better Half Really Your Better Half?

I love Evan Marc Katz, his writing makes a lot of sense. It talks about what makes a good relationship  WHO we pick and why. In the end why it lasts. One of the lines that stuck with me in his article titled: The Most Important Thing You Can Learn from Old, Married Couples was this:

“So when you’re assessing your dating prospects and are thinking past the lust phase into “Who will be wheeling me to my chemo treatments in 40 years”, consider that everything that attracts you comes with a considerable downside.”

How true is this! It’s not about looks or being financially independent or smart. It’s about having a companion who has empathy, compassion, who you trust, can see them being by your side during the hardest moments of your life.  Who do you want holding your hand in your doctor’s appointment? Who do you want to laugh with when life has you down? Who will compromise with you? Who will you be able to communicate your feelings with even when it’s something they don’t want to hear?

Looks fade. Money comes and goes. Brains well face it anyone can be smart if they apply themselves. But who do you want to wake up to everyday and conquer the world with?

People who I pictured a future with where people I could be real with. Who I could discuss anything and everything with. Someone I trusted to emotionally be able to take care of me. Isn’t that important?
