What It's Really Like To Do A Craft With A Toddler
Truth be told I am addicted to doing crafts and baking with my kids. I feel it's a time I truly focus on them and it's great bonding!
Someone once told me that the hardest thing for a parent is to let go of control and have your kids do something without us expecting them to do it the way we want them to do it. That's a lot harder then one would think. When it comes to crafts I cringe at times but try my best for them to do it on their own. THEIR way.
Well Wednesdays are my day off and this morning I decided to make more Minion Valentine's with my soon to be three year old. She's pretty independent and likes my help to a point but really attempts to do everything on her own. Needless to say there was a lot of " oh no, ugh, mamma help, oh nice" coming out of her mouth. This is her craft:
When she wasn't looking I fixed them all.
What can I say...I am not ready to fully let go of control!
Change Your Thinking
It was one of those days when the dryer wasn't working right and the dishwasher was making a funny noise. At one point the fridge light blew and I didn't hear it running. Great I thought what else is going to break. Then remembered the healing code. A book my sister gave to me and I meditated.
My night ended at a school event. It was nice to have a break from cooking and mingle with the parents. The last raffle was a free hotel room. My daughter started to cry that she had not won anything. I turned to her and said look at it like this you got to hang with your friends and enjoy some nice pasta. And then the raffle number was called. It was our ticket. The last ticket we checked. We won the free hotel room for a night.
Now was it luck. Maybe but it also had to do with changing how we think. See every situation has a plus and minus to it. Every day has good and bad in it. But when you change the way you think positive things happen.
Advantages To Not Sleeping Alone
This is a nice way to look at your children climbing into your bed. In my case it's practically almost every night so if this is true my kids should live to be 100!

Best Banana Bread Recipe
Recipe
4 ripe bananas mashed
2 cups of flour
2 eggs
1 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of butter (melted)
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
Mix flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl. Set aside. Beat eggs, sugar and butter together. Add cinnamon, chocolate chips and banana. Mix well. Slowly spoon flour mixture into wet mix. I use a rubber spatula to fold flour mixture into wet mix. (See picture below) Pour into a greased bread ban. Makes two bread loaves. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. YUMO!

Minion Valentine's: Easy and Creative
I posted these while ago and decided to do them with my daughter. These are awesome and super cute fun minion Valentine's. The best is that they are super easy. All you need is electrical black tape, tape, eyes, and pudding. The 6 pack of pudding was only $2.79. So it's a cheap craft to make. I taped the eyes on and they seemed to work great.

Best Sugar Cookie Recipe for Cut Outs
It's taken me a while to find a good solid recipe to use for when I want to do sugar cookie shapes with the kids. Yesterday was another snow day so we made hearts and football shaped sugar cookies. Now I can't take credit for the recipe. It's Martha Stewart's but I will take credit for finding it because I have tested out a ton of recipes and this one is by far the best!

Go Red Today For Women With Hypothyroidism
I saw this campaign on Hypothyroid Mom Facebook page. It's really important to know that hundreds and thousands of people have hypothyroidism and don't even know it. When you have your thyroid removed you become "hypothyroid" too. Undiagnosed or insufficiently treated hypothyroidism increases the risk for heart disease.

Stuffed Peppers- Amazing and Easy to Make
Stuffed Peppers Recipe:
8 medium green peppers
1 package of meatloaf meat mix
2 cups of sauce
1/2 cup of parmigiana cheese grated
Two eggs
2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
Wash and slice peppers into two. Mix rest of ingredients (leave 1 cup of sauce aside) Stuff peppers with mixture. Bake at 375 for 45 mins. Top with remainder of sauce and bake another 10 minutes. Amazing!
Vegetable Soup Recipe For Kids
My little ones are sick and the easiest thing for me to do is make them some vegetable soup. If you know how to boil water then you will know how to make this soup. Super easy.
What You Need:
Pot of Water: 4-6 cups depending how much you want to make
2 Chicken Boulion- I like the Knorr big cubes
Frozen Vegtables
Two eggs
Pasta of your choice
Boil 4 cups of water. Add Boulion. Add pasta of your choice. I would add a quarter pound. I like to use pastina or orzo since small. Add cup of frozen vegetables of choice. I like the mixed frozen vegetables but if your child is picky then add what vegetable they enjoy. I would let boil 15-20 minutes so vegetables are extra soft easier for little ones to eat. Add two eggs at end. Mix with a fork so they break up well. Let simmer for another 5 mins.

100th Day Of School Project: Spaghetti & Meatballs
This week is the 100th day of school. My daughter had a project due that had to include 100 of something. You could have done a drawing or a 3D project.
We brainstormed for a little while and I suggested a slice of pizza. She said no how about pasta and meatballs. This is so appropriate because she is a huge pasta lover. I really love how it came out.

Sometimes The Simplest Nights Are The Best Nights

Crockpot Ribs- Fall Off The Bone Amazing Ribs
I found this recipe posted by Tasty on Facebook and these ribs are amazing and so easy. They fall right off the bone.
I actually had ribs already cut up separately frozen and used them. Was so good but next time will try a full rack.
I love a good BBQ but these take ribs to another level. It's a must try!
