Be Kind!
And if you’re going through a hard time I wish you peace and know it’s all temporary. Pain is temporary. Hardship is temporary.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
My ex husband told me the other day a close family friend was battling cancer. Whenever I think of her I think of her amazing chocolate chip cookies and her baking skills. This recipe reminded me of her.
How You Know You Found The One
A lot of times people say they know when their marriage was over. This was mine. I knew the type of person and personality he had I couldn’t picture growing old with him. I didn’t feel he could be what I needed. It really solidified my decision to end the marriage.
It was funny I met many people who felt this way too. Mostly women. They felt they didn’t want to grow old with their partner. We grew up watching our parents relationship and they went through life with many ups and downs and to see them get through them made me think I should be able to do the same with my partner.
It wasn’t the case at the time. It wasn’t one thing. It was 100 different things and situations that all led to me knowing this wasn’t “my” person. And to be honest I wasn’t his. Because his person would be fine with that type of relationship. I wasn’t. I never could or would be.
So as you go through this journey of life you need to find a person you want to grow old with. Meaning who will be supportive through your ups and downs. Who is gentle and kind and supportive. Who you can rely on and is responsible and loving. And it’s not just one way. It’s not just you giving or them giving its both of you doing your part. Equally.
It’s you being supportive to him and he being supportive to you.
I knew I found the one when I could picture growing old with my boyfriend. The thought make me smile and want to cry.
I feel his kindness and gentle way with me makes me feel safe and heard in every situation. It’s not that butterfly jealous type of love. It’s the safe type of love where two individuals are secure while together and when apart. Where you feel supported in your differences. Where you have trust and honesty. Where you feel a calmness.
Do you picture growing old with your partner? Are you giving your partner the equal amount of what they are giving you?

How Supportive Are You?
You can be totally different from someone but as long as your morals and goals are aligned it can work. No one thinks just like you and if they do it can get boring. Seeing things differently helps you grow. Just have a mutual understanding so things can work and be good.
My boyfriend and I are similar in many ways and different in many ways. The good thing is we respect our differences. We honor and respect who we want to be. We also communicate our differences and communication is key.

Just Be You…Happy!
I love this image I found.
I love that after all these years I still have people in my life who talk ill of me. Who read my blog or social media and still it makes them cringe.
Why?
No clue! None. Zero. A part of me thought maybe I shouldn’t write. But what am I writing? How is my writing hurting them?
I am a woman, happy. Just simple, easy going person. I am a Mom. Girlfriend. Daughter. Sister. Friend. And am Happy.
And when you think of those who brought you down what do they lack? Happiness.
So when things got brought to me my initial reaction is to confront them and then I pause and think.
I hope they change. Not for me but for them. I hope their insecurity goes away. I hope they seek peace and happiness. For themselves. I hope they make room in their life for better things than to talk bad about others. I hope they find peace to be happy and accept my happiness too.

Our New Year’s Vase
Every year we do the “vase”. We write events and activities and fun milestones that we did throughout the year and put them in this vase. Every New Years we take turns reading them. It’s fun. Helps us remember and appreciate the little things. We start over every Jan 1st.
Life is full of ups and downs. We have the cherish the little things and moments that make it great.
Happy New Year’s Eve!
I wish I could select the best of 2021 but there’s so many memories. So many what ifs. So many ups and downs and yet here we are. Healthy. Happy. Safe.
My wish is that 2022 is whatever you need it to be. I hope today and everyday you do what makes you happy with the people you love and who love you!

Secret Santa 2021
Last night was the start of a new tradition!
This video has friendships from 30 yrs ago. Wow. I feel old saying it. Some from 20 yrs. Some from 15 yrs.
I love this crew. It’s my sister, cousin, best friends. We met in elementary school, some in college, some as we started our journey of adulthood. I pieced us together and last night was our secret Santa gag gift exchange.
I won with the hail Betty White prayer candle I gifted. It was great to be together and laugh and see each other. We always have a group text going but to take the time and talk while we saw each other made us all appreciate one another.
Life has been rough. Enjoy the little things that make it good again.
Be Easy On Yourself
We all have a story. Some are harder than others. Be patient and gentle with yourself!
